  • Patent number: 4948249
Abstract: An apparatus and method for aiming vehicle headlights and for visually displaying the illumination patterns of vehicle headlights. The apparatus focuses the light beam on a screen and includes a video sensor for sensing the intensity of the light in each cell of a matrix of cells overlying the focused light beam and for generating an electrical signal for each cell indicative of the position of the cell and the intensity of the light beam in each cell and a computer for comparing at least some of the electrical signals to each other and with established criteria to determine whether the headlight is aimed within a prescribed degree of accuracy. The same apparatus may be used to describe the illumination pattern of a headlight by visually displaying at least some of the electrical signals, i.e. the light intensities and their locations, for example on a printer or CRT.

  • Patent number: 4842524
Abstract: A trailer light connection system includes T-shape connectors principally for truck lighting systems respectively having three terminals including a modularized tap plug, split wire connectors principally for automobile lighting systems respectively including a modularized plug and trailer wiring harnesses respectively used with either the T-shape connector or the split wire connector and having a modularized plug interconnecting therewith. By standardizing the system components and modularizing the plug connections, the trailer lighting system of the present invention reduces the number of stock keeping units required while simplifying system installation.

  • Patent number: 4719660
Abstract: A hand-held ice scraper having an elongate handle portion and a blade attached to one end thereof. The scraping blade is substantially J-shaped and comprises dual outwardly flared scraping arms, one of which is longer and wider than the other. One of the scraping arms has a scraping surface with a smooth, beveled edge while the other features a scraping surface having a plurality of elevated ridges, each ridge having a beveled edge. The blade is firmly secured within the handle portion, preferably be an interference fit.In one embodiment the scraper has a selectively operable illumination means mounted within the handle portion. The illumination means is adapted to direct light through a translucent blade.

  • Patent number: 4542592
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle level has adjustable longitudinal and lateral level indicators, with the lateral level indicator further pivotable in response to a cam ring of a rotatable cap. The cap has numbers to indicate the amount by which a wheel should be raised to level the vehicle. Nestable wheel lifts accompany the level for raising the wheel. A method is shown for using the level in conjunction with the wheel lifts.
