  • Patent number: 4545613
Abstract: An infant's vehicle chair includes a base with upwardly extending supports and a seat body pivotally coupled through the supports to the base. The seat body is constructed from molded plastic and includes channels housing a reinforcing tubular member which extends generally across the bottom of the seat, up the back of the seat, across the back of the seat, down the seat back, and along the bottom of the seat. The ends of the reinforcing tubular member are formed to provide two loops through which a vehicle seat belt is passed to secure the chair to a vehicle seat in a rearward-facing orientation.

  • Patent number: 4456302
Abstract: A seat for securing a juvenile in a vehicle includes a seat for a juvenile occupant, a barrier positionable in front of the seat to limit forward movement of the occupant, a pivotal coupling between the barrier and the seat to permit hinged movement of the barrier relative to the seat, and a self-locking latch mechanism. The self-locking latch mechanism, when engaged, prohibits movement of the barrier in a first direction relative to the seat portion to limit forward movement of the occupant and permits movement of the barrier in a second direction relative to the seat to permit adjustment of the position of the barrier relative to the occupant placed in the seat. The latch mechanism is positioned intermediate the pivotal coupling and the barrier and can include an adjustable detent for variably positioning the barrier in one of a plurality of spaced relationships relative to the seat to accommodate occupants of various sizes.

  • Patent number: 4083579
Abstract: A collapsible infant's stroller has a pair of elongated tubular side frames each with a front wheel at its lower end. A fabric seat is supported upon the side frames and upon a pair of side struts, with said struts being pivotally connected to the side frames and extending forwardly therefrom. The side struts also extend rearwardly and downwardly from the side frames and have rear wheels connected to their lower ends. A bottom X-frame pivotally interconnects the side frames and the side struts adjacent their respective wheels, and a rear X-frame pivotally interconnects the side struts adjacent the rear wheels with slide lock assemblies on the side frames above the fabric seat. The slide lock assemblies have cam levers receivable in slots in said side frames for locking the stroller in an unfolded operating position.
