  • Patent number: 5785252
Abstract: A two-component spray nozzle, in particular for die spraying devices, comprising a nozzle inlet end for working medium and blast air as well as a nozzle outlet and, a blast air guiding portion having at least one blast air supply line connectable with a supply member for blast air, and a working medium guiding portion having at least one working medium supply line connectable with a supply mechanism for the working medium.

  • Patent number: 5680476
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques are used for processing data having multiple possible values, for example, gray-scale values of pixels of an image. This is useful in scanning of digitally-coded image data to detect anomalies, for example defects in some of a series of manufactured products. The preferred processing apparatus has either one processing channel or multiple parallel processing channels. The apparatus samples or scans incoming signals to produce a matrix of scan values, selects subsets of the scan values to define samples, extracts at least one feature, such as mean image brightness (MM), activity (MA), gradient absolute value (MG) and/or gradient direction (MD) from each sample, uses the at least one feature as an address to retrieve, from a table, a corresponding probability-of-occurrence value, derives, from the probability-of-occurrence values of a plurality of the samples, a decision value, and compares the decision value with a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 5603984
Abstract: Process for the application of a liquid die wall treatment agent to areas of the die walls of a molding device by means of at least one spray element with metering of the flow rate of the die wall treatment agent by a metering valve. The metering valve having a metering cross section for the liquid die wall treatment agent and influenced by a secondary fluid including a metering valve with a valve membrane of variable shape, one side of which is acted on by the die wall treatment agent, while the other side is acted on by the secondary fluid, and the pressure on at least one side of the membrane is influenced by flow rate adjusting means, which results in variable flow rates and the variable flow rates are determined by different positions of the membrane.

  • Patent number: 5524829
Abstract: A spray element for use with a mold sprayer of the type used to spray a mold prior to or between cycles of a manufacturing operation such as die-casting, drop forging or other operations involving the working of metals. The spray element includes a valve body having an internal elastic pretension. The valve body may be positioned in either an open or closed position in relation to a valve seat. A control pressure is applied, through a separate feed line, to the valve body to open and close the valve by forcing the valve body against or away from the valve seat. The spray element also includes a feed line supplying working air which cooperates with an atomizer attached to a feed line supplying a working medium to the atomizer to atomize the working medium when the valve body is actuated.
