  • Patent number: 9011640
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining cellulose by separating lignin from a biomass comprising lignocellulose in the form of plants or plant parts, wherein the biomass comprising lignocellulose is solubilized in a boiler in an alkaline medium comprising alkanol amine, and dissolved lignin is separated from the resulting raw cellulose. Said method is characterized in that the biomass comprising lignocellulose is not from a wood source, and is solubilized at a temperature of less than approximately 170° C. in a solubilizing agent based on alkanol amine and water, wherein the weight ratio of alkanol amine to water is set to 80:20 to 20:80, and raw cellulose thus produced is separated from the waste lye using a typical method. Said method is particularly advantageous for obtaining cellulose from annual plants, particularly wheat straw. The method is advantageously improved in that the solubilization takes place in the presence of a catalyst, particularly of anthrachinon.

  • Publication number: 20020129912
Abstract: A process for preparing a bleached sulfite chemical pulp includes delignification of chips of a lignocellulosic material in a sulfite pulping process until the defibration point of the material is reached, and bleaching of the fibrous material thus obtained by a chlorine-free bleaching sequence which includes at least one first bleaching step with a chlorine-free oxidant in the presence of a base. The chemical pulp prepared according to this process and paper or nonwoven made from such pulp have a high degree of brightness (at least 83% ISO) and high strength.

  • Patent number: 5338405
Abstract: In a process for manufacturing chemo-mechanical and/or chemothermal-mechanical wood pulps, raw materials containing lignocellulose, such as wood shavings, wood chips, pre-ground wood or sawdust, are first impregnated with an aqueous alcoholic SO.sub.2 solution and then heated to a temperature between 50.degree. and 170.degree. C. for a period of 1 to 300 minutes. The wood shavings are then ground to the desired degree of fineness in a defibrinating device. The process makes it possible to achieve up to 50% reduction in grinding energy in comparison with known chemothermal-mechanical processes.

  • Patent number: 4767500
Abstract: A sulphite cooking process is described for the production of pulp from materials containing lignocelluloses, with recovery of the cooking chemicals, in which the cooking, the blowing, the washing and the bleaching are performed sucessively. The waste liquor is subjected to several thermal treatments for the recovery of the cooking chemicals. For the cooking of the lignocellulosic materials, alkaline sulphite solutions are used, to which one or, in mixture, several low-boiling solvents are added, as well as at least one compound suitable as a redox catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4743339
Abstract: A method is described for controlling the cooking degree of pulp during pulp digestion and for analyzing cooking chemical composition and -concentration before and during cooking operation. The method is based on the continuous or discontinuous monitoring of the IR spectroscopical behavior of the cooking liquor. Evaluated IR-spectal data of cooking liquor samples are correlated with analytical data of the cooking liquor on the one hand and the resulting pulp on the other hand by means of adequate mathematical/statistical methods. A feedback of analytical data is performed to improve the statistical relevance of the method. The invention provides a method for cooking control which is much more accurate and faster than existing control methods.
