  • Publication number: 20230235104
Abstract: Embodiments of polyethylene compositions and articles comprising polyethylene compositions are disclosed. The polyethylene compositions may include a first polyethylene fraction area defined by an area in the elution profile in a temperature range of 70° C. to 97° C. via improved comonomer composition distribution (iCCD) analysis method; a first peak in the temperature range of 70° C. to 97° C. in the elution profile; a second polyethylene fraction area defined by an area in the elution profile in a temperature range of 97° C. to 110° C.; and a second peak in the temperature range of 97° C. to 110° C. The polyethylene composition may have a density of 0.935 g/cm3 to 0.955 g/cm3 and a melt index (I2) of 1.0 g/10 minutes to 10.0 g/10 minutes. A ratio of the first polyethylene fraction area to the second polyethylene fraction area may be less than 2.0.

  • Patent number: 8906228
Abstract: Trace amount levels of heavy metals such as mercury in crude oil are reduced by contacting the crude oil with an oxidizing agent and then with a reducing agent. In one embodiment, the oxidizing agent is selected from the group of hydroperoxides, organic peroxides, inorganic peracids and salts thereof, organic peracids and salts thereof, halogens such as iodine (I2), bromine (Br2), and ozone. The treatment converts non-volatile mercury in the crude oil into a volatile form for subsequent mercury removal by any of stripping, scrubbing, adsorption, and combinations thereof. In one embodiment, at least 50% of the mercury is removed. In another embodiment, the removal rate is at least 99%.

  • Publication number: 20120024750
Abstract: Processes for the hydrodechlorination of one or more hydrocarbon products derived from ionic liquid catalyzed hydrocarbon conversion reactions provide a dechlorinated product and an HCl-containing off-gas. The dechlorinated product provides liquid fuel or lubricating base oil, and the HCl may be recovered from the off-gas for recycling to the ionic liquid catalyzed hydrocarbon conversion reaction as a catalyst promoter.

  • Publication number: 20090286907
Abstract: We disclose a composition containing a polyester comprising about 1 mole part diol units and from about 0.98 mole parts fumaric acid units to about 1.01 mole parts fumaric acid units. In one embodiment, the diol units are 1,3-propanediol units or 1,2-propanediol units. In one embodiment, the polyester is blended with polylactide. In another embodiment, the composition is in a form selected from the group consisting of a plate, a tray, a bowl, a cup, a bowl lid, a cup lid, a fork, a spoon, a knife, a jewel case, and a packaging article. We also disclose a method of manufacturing the composition. The method includes combining about 1 mole part diol, from about 0.98 mole parts fumaric acid to about 1.01 mole parts fumaric acid, and from about 0.0002 mole parts to about 0.0020 mole parts of a polyesterfication catalyst, to yield a combination of diol and fumaric acid; maintaining the combination of diol and fumaric acid under an inert atmosphere at a temperature from about 130° C. to about 190° C.

  • Patent number: 7375555
Abstract: A five volt tolerant integrated circuit signal pad having an initial fast pull-up to three volts and then operating as an open drain output with an external resistor for pulling up the output from about three volts to about five volts. The initial fast (active) pull-up is accomplished with active devices that reduces the overall pull-up time of a newer technology (lower operating voltage) integrated circuit output when transitioning from a logic 0 to a logic 1. Circuits of the integrated circuit output driver protect the internal operating circuit nodes from excessive voltage and leakage currents that would otherwise result from a voltage on the signal pad that is more positive than the operating voltage of the integrated circuit.

  • Publication number: 20050129156
Abstract: A time signal receiver and decoder receives, detects and stores time information from time signals, e.g., WWV, WWVH, WWVB (USA), JJY (Japan), MSF (UK) and the like. The time information may be used for a self setting clock, and the clock may be used as a reference in time sensitive applications, devices and systems. The time signal receiver may use a high-Q state variable bandpass filter or an anti-notch filter circuit for selectivity at the time signal frequency of interest. The decoder is coupled to the time signal receiver, decodes the time information in the received time signal and may store the decoded time information.
