  • Patent number: 9243685
Abstract: The invention relates to a noise reduction device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a device that is suitable for use with a drive chain, for reducing noise and vibration resulting from the chain contacting its surrounding environment (rattle noise). The present invention has particular but not exclusive application in reducing noise in chains installed as part of powered door assemblies. In one form, the invention provides a noise reduction device suitable for use with a chain comprising a plurality of connected links, the device adapted for attachment to a link, such that when attached, the member is fixed to and movable with the link and presents one or more surfaces to an environment surrounding the chain, the or each surface provided with damping means to reduce noise associated with the chain contacting the surrounding environment.

  • Publication number: 20070239346
Abstract: A system and method are provided for aggregating data from multiple client terminals that are located on a vehicle, processing the data and communicating the processed data to multiple agencies. The client terminal devices are coupled to vehicle engine data bus to provide performance data and location data for trucks that travel in commerce. The data may be provided in real-time.

  • Patent number: 6834382
Abstract: The present invention relates to a utility for transforming messages from an external form to the internal representation of a given application and vice versa. The utility can handle messages relative to a variety of external systems and a variety of different formats without recompiling. In one embodiment, the invention is implemented in connection with a classified information processing and distribution system (100). Multiple input sources (102) provide information to the system (100) at various levels of classification and this information is reported over various communication channels (106, 108 and 110) and in different message formats. The system (100) sanitizes that data to the classification levels required for dissemination over lower level channels (112 and 114) to addressees (104), at least some of whom do not have clearance sufficient to receive all of the input information.

  • Patent number: 6657409
Abstract: A control system for a door or gate which is movable between an open position and a closed position by an automated operator, comprising a door travel organizer which divides the door travel into a plurality of segments and each segment into a plurality of sectors; a sensor to sense at each sector, the resistance of the door or gate against opening and closing whilst moving between the open position and the closed position over a predetermined number of open close cycles, and to generate at least one signal representative of that resistance in each segment over the open close cycle, a recorder connected to the sensor to receive each representative signal and to store such a signal; a comparator to compare each signal with a resistance trip point set for each segment and generate a resistance profile for the door or gate over an open close cycle of the door or gate; a calculator to calculate the resistance trip point for the door or gate for each segment based upon the highest resistance encountered in any sec

  • Patent number: 6460069
Abstract: Collecting document images at a remote data collection site and transmitting these document images to a selected data processing site via a distributed computer network in response to authorization by a central control system. A data communication system can communicate collected data between multiple data collection systems and one or more data processing systems via a distributed computer network, such as the global Internet or a framed network. The central control system, connected to the distributed computer network, can authorize the transmission of collected data from a data collection system to an identified data processing system. Information collected at a data collection system typically comprises electronic images of documentation. Document images can be generated by an image scanning device, such as a conventional scanner, in response to a user's selection of a control corresponding to the color of the document to be scanned.
