    Abstract: A battery storage tray according to an aspect of the present invention includes a first pocket portion into which a first end portion of a columnar battery in a longitudinal direction is inserted. The first pocket portion has a cup shape including an opening, a side portion, and a bottom portion. The side portion of the first pocket portion includes a fitting portion, which fits to the columnar battery, and a groove, which defines a space between the groove and the columnar battery. The space defined by the groove is connected to the opening of the first pocket portion. An aspect of the present invention provides a battery storage tray capable of reliably holding the columnar battery and facilitating removal of the columnar battery.

The packaging construction includes an accommodation case including a bottom plate, and side plates located on outer edges of the bottom plate; a first tray having first recesses into which one end portions of the batteries are fitted, placed immediately above the bottom plate, and fixed to the accommodation case; and a second tray having second recesses into which the other end portions of the batteries are fitted, and placed above the first tray. The batteries are held so as to be fitted to the first and second trays and such that each adjacent pair of the batteries are apart from each other. A portion of a bottom of each first recess facing a corner portion of the one end portion of a corresponding one of the fitted batteries protrudes outward to be apart from the corner portion.

    Abstract: Battery packs with a plurality of rechargeable batteries connected in series so as to obtain a voltage required by a load device are detachably accommodated in a case. The battery packs are connected in parallel and each output thereof is modified to a predetermined voltage by a discharge control section. The battery packs are connected to a power source line of the load device. Each battery pack is connected through an information transmission line to a power source control section where charge and discharge thereof are controlled, as well as the lifetime is judged. Thus, only the lifetime-judged battery pack is replaced.
