  • Publication number: 20110317937
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided that includes an obtaining section and a selecting section. The obtaining section obtains information of first and second images that each have an overlapped region where the first image and the second image are overlapped and constitute a taken image including an image part of a subject by being connected with each other with the overlapped region as a reference. The selecting section determines pixels other than the image part of the subject based on information of a plurality of pixels that belong to the overlapped region of the first image where the first image is overlapped with the second image, the information of the plurality of pixels being included in the obtained information of the first image, and selects, out of the determined pixels, a connection pixel corresponding to a position where the first image and the second image are connected in the overlapped region.

  • Publication number: 20110285838
Abstract: Provided is an information processing apparatus including a first setting unit and a second setting unit. The first setting unit sets position coordinates of first photography regions arranged along a first direction of two orthogonal axial directions so that the first photography regions adjacent to each other have first overlapping regions where the first photography regions overlap with each other in the first direction. The second setting unit sets position coordinates of second photography regions arranged along the first direction based on the position coordinates of the first photography regions so that the second photography regions adjacent to each other have second overlapping regions where the second photography regions overlap with each other in the first direction, the second photography regions overlap with the first photography regions in a second direction of the two axial directions, and the second overlapping regions are prevented from overlapping with the first overlapping regions.

  • Publication number: 20110141261
Abstract: In one example embodiment, an information processing system includes an image pickup apparatus connected to a microscope having a stage configured to support an observation target object. In this example embodiment, the stage has a first position. The information processing system has a buffer having an amount of data. In response to the amount of data including a predetermined amount, the information processing system causes the stage to move from the first position to a different position. In response to the amount of data including the predetermined amount, the information processing system causes the buffer to, while the stage is moving, store images associated with the observation target object. In one example embodiment, the images are continuously captured by the image pickup apparatus. Thereafter, the information processing system, in response to the amount of data not including the predetermined amount, causes the image pickup apparatus to terminate capturing the images.
