  • Publication number: 20180286251
Abstract: A server provides necessary data including at least map data and weather data for an ocean area to be navigated by a boat, and its AR-display data generating unit AR-displays a destination of the boat on captured forward-looking images displayed on a display of an information communication terminal at every via-target-point en route. And a server navigation data learning unit sequentially receives navigation data of the outboard motor from the terminal and learns navigation data that enables to reduce fuel consumption rate of an engine mounted on the outboard motor, and a server operation assist unit transmits the learned navigation data to the terminal so as to assist the operator's operation of the outboard motor accordingly.

  • Patent number: 10049582
Abstract: In an apparatus installed on a boat (A) in plural boats including (A, B) for avoiding collision with the boat (B), there are equipped with first and second radio-wave transceiver units installed at spaced positions that transmit to and receive radio waves of a predetermined frequency from the boat (B), and first and distance calculating units that calculate clearance distances from the boat (B) based on attenuation degree of the radio waves transmitted from the boat (B). An intersection point of circles whose origins in an x-y coordinate plane are set to positions corresponding to the first and second positions and whose radii are set to values corresponding to the calculated clearance distances. Direction and position of the boat (B) are estimated from the intersection point, and an instruction necessary for avoiding collision with the boat (B) is issued based on the estimated direction and position.

  • Patent number: 10001784
Abstract: In an apparatus for controlling posture of a small boat having a hull and an even number of outboard motors mounted side by side on a stern of the hull, each equipped with a propeller driven by an engine and a throttle actuator adjusting a throttle valve opening of the engine, an inclinometer is installed in one of the outboard motors that produces an output indicating inclination of the hull relative to a vertical axis around a roll axis. It is determined whether the hull inclines to port or starboard from the output of the inclinometer and when it does, operation of the throttle actuators of the outboard motors are controlled on a side determined to incline downward to increase engine speed, while controlling operation of the throttle actuator of the outboard motor on a side determined to incline upward to decrease the engine speed.

  • Patent number: 9981724
Abstract: In a small boat emergency stop apparatus having an operator's cockpit and a passenger seat installed spaced apart from the cockpit, there are provided with an operator transmitter wearable by the operator to transmit a radio-wave signal of a predetermined strength, a passenger transmitters wearable by the passenger to transmit a radio-wave signal of the same predetermined strength and a receiver installed at a location closer to the cockpit than the passenger seat to receives the radio-wave signals transmitted by the operator and passenger transmitters successively. It is identified which of the operator and the passenger is a wearer of the transmitter and is then discriminated whether strength of the radio-wave signal transmitted from the identified wearer is smaller than a predetermined value. When it is, it is discriminated that emergency occurred in the wearer and an emergency action of engine stopping or engine speed reducing is performed.
