Abstract: A distributed share folder & file discovery system allows different local computers to discover hosts and share folders without having to go through a central master browser. The local computer sends a device name query directly to any remote devices connected to a same network. The local computer then sends out a share query to the remote devices identified during the device name query to identify any folders or files that are available for sharing (shares). The local computer assembles a list of shares available on the remote devices and mounts any of the shares that are selected from the list.

Abstract: An image de-ringing filter system and method are provided. The method comprises: accepting image pixels; collecting data from a first group of pixels neighboring a test pixel; in response to the first group data, deciding if the test pixel includes image ringing artifacts; collecting data from a second group of pixels neighboring the test pixel; in response to the second group data, generating a filtered value (FV); and, replacing the test pixel actual value with FV. Typically, collecting data from the first and second group of pixels includes the performance of a mathematical operation. For example, a matrix may be defined for the multiplication of the first group of pixels. Values of pixels on a first side of the coordinate axis may be subtracted from pixels on a second side of the coordinate axis, opposite of the first side. Then, the difference is compared to a threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing access to a thumbnail image that is embedded within an image file along with a corresponding main image. An exemplary method involves receiving a request from a client for the thumbnail image. The thumbnail image is retrieved from an image host. The entire image file is not retrieved from the image host. The thumbnail image may be sent to the client. Alternatively, the thumbnail location information may be sent to the client. Retrieving the thumbnail image from the image host may involve identifying a location of the thumbnail image within the image file, and retrieving data from the image file corresponding to the location.

Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing any control point of a network to dynamically discover a remote camera control service and to selectively invoke actions to remotely control the camera. In a system that includes a camera or other video input device, the camera is remotely controlled.

Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a cache model are disclosed. An exemplary embodiment includes a cache manager for implementing a method in a client. The client includes a cache that includes a portion of an image file received from a server. The entire image file is stored on the server. The method implemented by the cache manager involves creating a cache model. The cache model includes a representation of contents of the cache. The method also involves saving the cache model on the client. The method also involves updating the cache model to reflect modifications made to the contents of the cache. The cache model may also be created and stored similarly on the server to model the client's cache.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying original streams of media content are disclosed. An exemplary method involves identifying at least one media content identifier in a media content directory. The media content identifier identifies media content. A plurality of stream access identifiers may be associated with the media content identifier. The method also involves identifying at least one stream access identifier of the plurality of stream access identifiers that includes access information for accessing an original stream of data from a media file comprising the media content. The method also involves providing identifier information about the at least one stream access identifier to a client in response to a client request.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced navigation of streaming video are disclosed. An exemplary method involves receiving a video as it is streamed from a server over a computer network. A first user request is received to display a first navigation video strip on the display device. The first navigation video strip includes a first plurality of video frames from the video. In response to the first user request, first instructions are obtained for displaying the first navigation video strip. The first navigation video strip is then displayed on the display device in accordance with the first instructions.

Abstract: Systems and methods for playlist creation and playback are disclosed. An exemplary method involves receiving a video. The video is played on a display device. A user's designation of a video segment from the video is received. The video segment is added to a playlist. Adding the video segment to the playlist may involve generating display instructions for displaying the video segment and adding the display instructions to the playlist. The video segment may be played back on the display device in response to a user request.

Abstract: A system for enabling an IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) application to communicate across a computer network with an IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) system is disclosed. The system includes a computing device and executable instructions. Executable instructions are configured to make a function call to an IPv4 socket Application Programming Interface (API). The instructions translate the function call to a translated function call wherein the translated function call uses raw sockets. Another function call is made to the IPv4 socket API for the translated function call that uses raw sockets. A packet is passed to an IPv4 stack.

Abstract: A method of defining a synchronized slideshow is disclosed. The method includes providing at least one body element of a slideshow, where the body element is at least one selected from a group of a master audio element to allow audio playback with or without synchronized images and a master image element to allow playback of images with a specified timing, the master image element being associated with at least one image element having a location.
