  • Patent number: 9583019
Abstract: An aircraft simulation system comprising a user interface and a simulator in communication with the user interface. The user interface is configured to interact with an operator. The simulator is configured to generate a representation of controls in an aircraft that are visible from a current field of view identified by the user interface. The simulator is further configured to display the representation of the controls on the user interface. The simulator is further configured to identify interaction by the operator with the controls from user input received by the user interface. The simulator is further configured to record a sequence of performed operations from the interaction with the controls.

    Assignee: THE BOEING COMPANY
Inventors: Samantha Ann Schwartz, Alexander V. Korolev, Nima Barraci
  • Patent number: 9064407
Abstract: Systems and methods for use in identifying at least one alternate airport for an aircraft. One example method includes identifying a plurality of airports based on static data associated with the plurality of airports, and identifying, at a processing device, at least one preferred airport from the plurality of airports based on dynamic data associated with at least the at least one preferred airport, wherein the static data and/or the dynamic data is associated with at least one weight that enables at least one of the plurality of airports to be identified based on a relative importance of the static data and/or the dynamic data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 12, 2014
Date of Patent: June 23, 2015
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
Inventors: Willard Kyle Otto, Jason William Clark, Matthew B. Hendrian, Samantha Ann Schwartz
  • Patent number: 8825234
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a touch screen system. Data generated by an acceleration detector about acceleration of the touch screen system is received. The acceleration detector is located within the touch screen system. An action is initiated by an input manager when the acceleration of the touch screen system reduces usability of the touch screen system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 15, 2012
Date of Patent: September 2, 2014
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
Inventors: Jeffrey L. Williams, Susan Anne Foster, Jason W. Clark, Samantha Ann Schwartz, Aaron Daniel Pilcher

  • Patent number: 8666649
Abstract: Systems and methods for use in identifying at least one alternate airport for an aircraft. One example method includes identifying a plurality of alternate airports based on static data associated with the plurality of alternate airports, identifying, at a processing device, at least one preferred alternate airport from the plurality of alternate airports based on dynamic data associated with the plurality of alternate airports, and storing the at least one preferred alternate airport. The dynamic data includes at least one of visibility information and traffic density information.
