Abstract: A method of adjusting a screen magnification of an electronic device is provided. The method includes displaying a Dots Per Inch (DPI) setting screen in order to adjust a screen magnification of an object that is to be displayed on a display unit of the electronic device, receiving information about changed DPI through the DPI setting screen, calculating a screen magnification using the changed DPI and a preset Device-Independent Pixel (DIP), changing a size of the object to correspond to the calculated screen magnification, and displaying the object according to the changed size.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus, a host client, an image forming system and a managing method thereof are provided. The managing method of an image forming system which includes an image forming apparatus, and a host client which is connected to the image forming apparatus, includes determining whether a predetermined event of the image forming apparatus happens or not, informing at least one host client whether to perform an uninstalling of a printer driver which corresponds to the image forming apparatus or not if the predetermined event happens, selecting the uninstalling of the printer driver depending on the informing, and deleting the printer driver of the host client depending on the selecting. Thus, the present general inventive concept provides an image forming apparatus, a host client, an image forming system and a managing method thereof efficiently managing a control program corresponding to the image forming apparatus.

The method includes detecting an occurrence of a predetermined event related to a device scan, scanning the second device that provides identifier information and capability information, establishing a first communication link with the scanned second device by using a first communication method, determining a second communication method for communicating data with the second device via the first communication link, and establishing a second communication link with the second device by using the determined second communication method.

Abstract: A method of controlling a communication unit of an electronic device is provided. The method includes: obtaining magnetic field information via a magnetic sensor; comparing the obtained magnetic field information with reference magnetic field information; and switching the communication unit in an inactive state to an active state based on a result of the comparing, wherein the communication unit is capable of communicating with an external device in the active state.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for providing a haptic effect by a portable terminal and an input device. A writing application is displayed on a touch screen of the portable terminal. A selection for a type of pen used for writing in the displayed writing application and a selection for a background material on which the writing is performed are received using the selected type of pen. A haptic pattern of the selected type of pen and a haptic pattern of the background material are combined. Haptic feedback is output based on a combined haptic pattern of the selected type of pen and the background material. A control signal having the haptic feedback is received at the input unit that controls a vibration of a vibration device of the input unit. The received control signal is analyzed to control the vibration of the vibration device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing feedback in a portable apparatus are provided. An object is displayed on a touch screen of the portable apparatus. A first touch, from an input unit, is detected at a position on the touch screen corresponding to the displayed object. The object is selected in response to the first touch. A copy command by which the selected object is copied to a copy target is received from the input unit. A first control command corresponding to haptic feedback determined in response to the received copy command is transmitted from the portable apparatus to the input unit.

A document management method of an image forming apparatus which includes an image scanner to scan a document and generate a scanned image, the method includes generating the scanned image by scanning a document including a bar code, determining whether to perform an optical character recognition (OCR) on the scanned image by using bar code information of the generated scanned image, extracting character information of the document by performing the OCR with respect to the scanned image according to the determination result, and setting a file name by using at least one of the bar code information and the extracted character information and storing the scanned image. The mobile device includes a User Interface (UI) for setting a screen unlock mode using a wireless device other than the mobile terminal and stores IDentifier (ID) information of the wireless device designated by the UI corresponding to the screen unlock mode. The mobile terminal is capable of detecting a wireless device. After the ID information of the wireless device is stored, if the wireless device is detected by the mobile terminal and ID information of the detected wireless device is identical to the stored ID information, the mobile terminal controls not to display an unlock requesting screen when the display unit of the mobile terminal is turned on.

The method includes placing the mobile terminal within a communication range of a sensor based Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device previously registered in the mobile terminal, receiving identification information and sensing information detected by the sensor based BLE device from the sensor based BLE device, extracting notification information corresponding to the received identification information of the sensor based BLE device, comparing a previously set reference sensing information included in the extracted notification information and the received sensing information, and outputting a notification message included in the notification information based on the comparison of the previously set reference sensing information and the received sensing information.
