  • Publication number: 20190250985
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device includes an error correction code (ECC) engine, a memory cell array, an input/output (I/O) gating circuit and a control logic circuit. The memory cell array includes a normal cell region configured to store main data and a parity cell region configured to selectively store parity data which the ECC engine generates based on the main data, and sub data received from outside of the semiconductor memory device. The control logic circuit controls the ECC engine to selectively perform an ECC encoding and an ECC decoding on the main data and controls the I/O gating circuit to store the sub data in at least a portion of the parity cell region.

  • Patent number: 7167210
Abstract: A signal transmission method and apparatus provides a digital transmission path and an analog transmission path between a signal output apparatus and a signal input apparatus. An audio/video signal is transmitted from the signal output apparatus to the signal input apparatus over the digital transmission path. When a user requests an on screen display (OSD) from the signal output apparatus, a controlling unit of the signal output apparatus judges a volume of the data to be displayed via the OSD. If the volume exceeds a preset limit, the OSD is transmitted to the signal input apparatus over the analog transmission path. If the volume does not exceed the preset limit, the OSD is transmitted to the signal input apparatus over the digital transmission path. The controlling unit of the signal output apparatus informs a controlling unit of the signal input apparatus of the intended path of the OSD, so that the signal input apparatus can process the OSD in the appropriate manner.

  • Patent number: 6629159
Abstract: A method for updating data of a plug control register in a digital interface having a plurality of audio/video nodes. The method includes the steps of retrieving a signal that determines whether a first audio/video node is entitled to update a value of the plug control register of a second audio/video node, when the first audio/video node requests that the second audio/video node update a value of the plug control register through a read/lock transaction; transmitting the determining signal to the first audio/video node through a lock response packet; and updating the value of the plug control register of the second audio/video node with a data value transmitted from the first audio/video node, when the first audio/video node is entitled to update the value of the plug control register of the second audio/video node and when an argument value transmitted from the first audio/video node is equal to the value of the plug control register of the second audio/video node.

  • Patent number: 6559461
Abstract: A wafer scanning support unit of an ion implantation apparatus includes a vacuum chamber having an opening in one side thereof for admitting an ion beam, and a wafer scanning support disposed within the vacuum chamber for supporting a wafer at an inclination and moving the wafer up and down in front of the ion beam so that the wafer is scanned. The wafer scanning support includes a scan shaft pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis so that it can be inclined relative to the vertical, an elevating member slidingly coupled to the scan shaft so as to be movable therealong, a driving motor for moving the elevating member up and down along the scan shaft, and a wafer holder connected to the elevating member so as to be movable therewith. The inclined wafer holder is moved along an inclined path corresponding to the inclination of the scan shaft, so that the ion beam travels substantially the same distance to impinge all portions of the wafer including the uppermost and bottommost parts.

  • Publication number: 20010022593
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of menu-based control of an external device connected to a digital audio/video apparatus. According to the present invention, a main menu is displayed including menu items for selecting functions or operations of the external device and a menu item for obtaining a detailed menu of the external device, the main menu image being stored in a memory of the audio/video apparatus. When one of the menu items associated with the functions or operations is selected, command data corresponding to the selected menu item are transmitted to have the external device perform the corresponding operation. When a menu item for obtaining the detailed menu of the external device is chosen, a menu image of the detailed menu is read out from the memory and is then displayed. Information provided by the external device is requested from the detailed menu.
