    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a diffusion sheet for use in a backlight unit of a TFT-LCD. Specifically, this invention provides a diffusion sheet including a transparent base sheet, a light-diffusing layer laminated on one surface of the base sheet, and an antiblocking layer laminated on the other surface of the base sheet, the base sheet satisfying a refractive index represented by a predetermined equation. According to this invention, the diffusion sheet for a display can uniformly diffuse light, which is radiated from a light source lamp positioned at a side surface or the back surface of the display, while passing such light therethrough, thus obtaining clear display images, resulting in increased total light transmittance, light diffusibility, and luminance.

    Abstract: The invention pertains to a silicone release composition of which the peeling force can be controlled and also a silicone release film coated with the composition. The silicone release film produced as such can have controlled peeling force with a stable peeling force characteristic compatible with viscous agent. According to this invention, the light-diffusing film has improved total light transmittance and light diffusibility owing to the pores formed in the light-diffusing layer, and is thus usefully applicable to a backlight unit of a TFT-LCD.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polyester film for flexographic printing plates, which comprises: a polyester base layer (B); a detachable adhesive layer (A) formed on one surface of the polyester base layer using polyester resin and acrylic resin; and an antistatic layer (C) formed on the other surface of the polyester base layer. In the disclosed polyester film, the detachable adhesive layer is formed on one surface of the polyester base layer using polyester resin in combination with acrylic resin, and thus can have increased adhesion to the base layer and photosensitive resin. Also, the other surface of the polyester base layer has formed thereon the antistatic layer, which has excellent antistatic performance and, at the same time, is not transferred to a surface opposite thereto and is not greatly influenced by humidity. Thus, the disclosed polyester film is suitable for flexographic printing plates.

The film of the present invention comprises a porous polyester resin layer B containing a thermoplastic resin non-compatible with polyester; a polyester resin-based photic layer A formed on one surface of the resin layer B, the photic layer A having a 60-degree gloss of the surface thereof of more than 100%; and an aphotic layer C formed on the other surface of the resin layer B, the aphotic layer C having a 60-degree gloss of the surface thereof of less than 50%. The total density of the photic layer A and the aphotic layer C is 0.55–1.2 g/cm3. This film has excellent gloss and flexibility so that it is very suitable for use in printing and imaging.

    Abstract: A release agent and a release liquid which are used for the manufacture of labels, double-sided tapes, etc., are disclosed. The release agent and the release liquid provide improved adhesion between a substrate and a release layer, and excellent peel strength betwveen the release layer and an adherent. The release agent includes a dispersion of a vinyl-modified colloidal silica, a dispersion of a platinum chelate catalyst, and a polysiloxane water-dispersible silicone emulsion. The release liquid is obtained by dispersing the release agent in water so as to have a solid content of 2.5˜30% by weight. The release film is produced by applying the release liquid on a substrate, followed by drying.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a biaxially stretched, colored polyester film, which can be widely applied in windowpanes of cars and buildings. This colored film comprises a transparent polyester layer A; a colored polyester layer B formed on one surface of the transparent polyester layer A, the colored polyester layer B containing dyes at the amount of 0.01-10% by weight; and a coating layer C rendered adhesive formed on the surface of the colored polyester layer B opposite to the transparent polyester layer A. When the colored film is adhered to the windowpanes of cars and buildings, it exhibits excellent ultraviolet blocking effect and flame retardance while protecting privacy. Also, even when glass is broken by impacts from the outside, the colored film can prevent a broken piece of glass from being scattered. Thus, the colored film is an improved polyester film having high functionality and multi-functionality.
