Patent number: 9477231Abstract: A control system for a variable displacement pump driven by a drive source for driving a vehicle is provided. The variable displacement pump pressurizes hydraulic oil, and is switchable between a full capacity operation in which a discharge flow rate is maximized and a partial capacity operation in which the discharge flow rate is lower than that in the full capacity operation. It is determined whether an operation for starting the drive source has been performed. A rotational speed of the drive source and a temperature of the hydraulic oil are detected. When the rotational speed of the drive source is equal to or higher than a predetermined rotational speed and the hydraulic oil temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, immediately after the operation for starting the drive source is performed, the partial capacity operation of the variable displacement pump is performed.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2013Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Satoru Miyata, Naoki Nishimura, Keiichi Nishiyama, Ryo Matsui, Tomoaki Ishikawa

Patent number: 6945906Abstract: There is provided a control system for a vehicle, which is capable of increasing the service life of a transmission belt while preventing slippage thereof, and at the same time improving fuel economy and drivability. The control system for a vehicle sets a transmission transfer torque to be transmitted from a drive pulley of a continuously variable transmission to a driven pulley of the same, and a clutch transfer torque to be transferred by a clutch. When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling on a bad road, the clutch transfer torque is reduced, and the transmission transfer torque is set to a larger value as the clutch transfer torque is larger.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2004Date of Patent: September 20, 2005Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takahiro Eguchi, Hirohiko Totsuka, Eiji Suzuki, Satoru Miyata

Patent number: 6278019Abstract: The present invention is a method for acyloxylating an alkyl group substituted aromatic compound at the side chain, by letting the alkyl group substituted aromatic compound and a carboxylic acid and/or a carboxylic anhydride react with each other in the presence of an oxygen containing gas. In this case, if (1) a solid catalyst in which at least one selected from cobalt, cerium and manganese is supported on a solid material or (2) a catalyst containing at least one selected from cobalt oxides, cerium oxides and manganese oxides is used, an alkali group substituted aromatic compound and a carboxylic acid and/or a carboxylic anhydride can be caused to react with each other efficiently in the presence of an oxygen containing gas, and in addition the catalyst can be easily separated from the reaction solution. Furthermore, (3) a compound diacyloxylated at the side chains can be highly selectively produced if a cerium compound is used as a catalyst in the absence of a cobalt compound and a manganese compound.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1999Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Toray Industries, Inc.Inventors: Jiro Nakatani, Eiichi Minomiya, Tetsuya Kato, Satoru Miyata

Patent number: 6235952Abstract: A method for isomerizing a halogenated ethylbenzene characterized by bringing the same into contact with an acidic zeolite containing at least one metal selected among metals of Groups 7 to 11; and a method of efficiently isolating a m-halogenated ethylbenzene from a mixture of halogenated ethylbenzene isomers by adsorption using a specific zeolite X or Y as the adsorbent. The isomerization method enables a halogenated ethylbenzene to be efficiently isomerized with the zeolite catalyst. The separation method enables m-chloroethylbenzene to be efficiently separated from a mixture of chloroethylbenzene isomers by using a specific zeolite as the adsorbent.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1998Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Assignee: Toray Industries, Inc.Inventors: Eiichi Minomiya, Satoru Miyata

Patent number: 5352437Abstract: A foamable aerosol preparation for use as the base of cosmetics, quasi drugs, drugs, and so forth, which comprises 0.1 to 5 w/v % of a surfactant, 0.05 to 10 w/v % of a lower alcohol and/or a glycol, 3 to 25 w/v % of water, and 60 to 95 w/v % of n-butane gas. Despite of the use of n-butane gas as the propellant, this preparation foams very well and is excellent in cracking sound when applied to skin. Furthermore it is particularly useful from the viewpoint of environmental protection, because it is free from the problem of the depletion of the ozonosphere by virtue of the use of a liquefied petroleum gas as the propellant instead of fluorocarbon gas heretofore used.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1991Date of Patent: October 4, 1994Assignee: Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc.Inventors: Akira Nakagawa, Satoru Miyata, Kenji Masuda
