  • Publication number: 20030013499
Abstract: In a mobile communication terminal according to an aspect of the invention, it is detects whether an external unit is connected to an earphone jack. If it is detected that an external unit is connected to the earphone jack, it is determined whether the external unit is an earphone unit or an electronic flash unit. If the external unit is the electronic flash unit, an audio path provided in the terminal to transmit an audio signal within the terminal will be connected to a microphone and a speaker provided in the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20030013484
Abstract: There is comprised an electronic flash unit having a light emitting section. A request for implementing control accompanying radio communication is monitored while a request for applying a charging voltage or a light-emission drive current to the electronic flash unit is monitored. The radio communication or the application of the charging voltage or light-emission drive current, or both are controlled on the basis of the results of monitoring, to prevent the radio communication and the application of the charging voltage from overlapping in time.

  • Patent number: 6400729
Abstract: A protocol conversion system is provided to secure a highly reliable and smooth data communication between different two types of networks whose protocols differs in types from each other. A protocol conversion between such networks is realized by replacing headers added to communication data. Information indicating that sending data was success or failure in transmission is included in the headers, thereby sending results being recognized. A serial interface intervenes between the self and party systems in order to detect states of the party system. Further, for data communication, without processing (or terminating) layers up to an application layer, only lower layers, that is, a transport layer and layers lower than it, are processed (or terminated) to raise reliability in data communication.

  • Patent number: 6379318
Abstract: A blood test tool with which blood in a dried state can be held without denaturation. In the blood test tool wherein a card made of filter paper is impregnated with the blood and then the blood is held in a dried state, a carboxylic acid such as citric acid is added to the part for holding blood. Thus, the carboxylic acid exerts an effect of preventing the blood in the dried state from denaturation. It is preferable to add a non-reducing sugar (sucrose, etc.), an anticoagulant (EDTA, etc.) and an antioxidant (glutathione, etc.) together with the carboxylic acid. This blood test tool can be produced by impregnating a filter paper card with a solution containing citric acid, etc. dissolved therein and then air-drying.

  • Patent number: 4551260
Abstract: In preparing fine and plate-shaped particles of a ferrite having the magnetoplumbite structure by hydrothermal treatment of a powder of .gamma.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 or (FeO).sub.x.Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, where O<x.ltoreq.1, and a compound of Ba, Sr or Pb in an aqueous alkali solution, Sn.sup.4+, or Sn.sup.4+ and M.sup.2+ such as Fe.sup.2+, Cu.sup.2+ or Zn.sup.2+, are introduced into the reaction system of the hydrothermal treatment such that Fe.sup.3+ in the obtained ferrite are partly substituted by Sn.sup.4+ or M.sup.2+ -Sn.sup.4'. The substitution has the effect of lowering the coercive force of the ferrite powder to a level suitable for use in magnetic recording media of the perpendicularly magnetizing recording type. By using an iron oxide powder having a mean particle size not larger than 500 .ANG. with addition of a surface-active agent, the particle size of the ferrite powder can be reduced to about 0.2 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 4512906
Abstract: Fine particles of a ferrite having the magnetoplumbite structure are prepared by hydrothermal treatment of .gamma.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 and at least one compound of a divalent metal selected from Ba, Sr and Pb in an aqueous alkali solution, preferably at 80.degree.-360.degree. C. This process is suitable for preparation of hexagonal and thin plate-shaped particles of the ferrite and is advantageous in consuming only a small quantity of alkali. Alternative to .gamma.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, it is possible to use either Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 or an intermediate iron oxide expressed by (FeO).sub.x.Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, where O<x<1, as the starting iron oxide with the addition of an oxidizer to the hydrothermal reaction system to cause oxidation of the starting iron oxide to .gamma.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 during an initial stage of the hydrothermal treatment.

  • Patent number: 4344039
Abstract: A circuit for demodulating either an MFM (modified frequency modulated) or an FM (frequency modulated) self-clocking-information signal is adapted to measure a time period corresponding to a signal reversion period and quantize the measured time period, whereby the quantized output determines a signal reversion period. Pulses of the number corresponding to the quantized output are generated and clock pulses for demodulating the original data are regenerated based on the above described pulses. In the case where the self-clocking-information signal is MFM, the original data is demodulated by reading the data regenerated based on the said pulses of the number corresponding to the quantized output based on the regenerated clock pulses. In the case where the self-clocking-information signal is FM, the original data is demodulated by reading the specified quantized output based on the above described regenerated clock pulses.

  • Patent number: 4289746
Abstract: High purity hexagonal plate-like .alpha.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, commonly called micaceous iron oxide, is prepared by a hydrothermal treatment of either magnetite or an iron ore, or an iron oxide, of which principal component is magnetite together with an oxidizer in an aqueous alkali solution. Main advantage of this process is a great decrease in the consumption of alkali. Pure magnetite for use in this process can be prepared economically by a hydrothermal treatment of an iron ore, or an oxide, of which principal component is an oxide of trivalent iron in an aqueous alkali solution together with a compound of divalent iron and/or metallic iron.

  • Patent number: RE31172
Abstract: An analog sound signal the time axis of which is compressed is sampled responsive to a write clock signal and the sampled output is stored in an analog shift register having a given capacity, whereupon the stored signal is read out from the analog shift register responsive to a read clock signal the frequency of which is smaller than that of the write clock signal. The above described operation is alternately repeated, whereby the output signal read out from the analog shift register is compiled for sound synthesization. The synthesizing junction of the sound signal is controlled by a microcomputer. The microcomputer is adapted to evaluate the similarity of the data concerning the waveform at the trailing end portion of a preceding sound element stored in the random-access memory and the data concerning the waveform at the leading end portion of the succeeding sound element stored in the random-access memory.
