  • Patent number: 5397674
Abstract: A radiation sensitized paper having a polyester film, a coating layer which contains a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin and is formed on a surface of the polyester film, a resin layer which is formed on the coating layer and a fluorescent material layer which is formed on the resin layer, in which adhesion of the fluorescent material layer is good.

  • Patent number: 5045384
Abstract: A polyester laminated film comprising a polyester inner layer having a density greater than 1.3 g/cm.sup.3 and polyester outer layers on both sides of said inner layer having a density in the range of 0.4 to 1.3 g/cm.sup.3 is disclosed. The laminated film of this invention has high discrimination property and is also improved in image printability on the film surface in comparison with the conventional polyester films. When, for instance, the present laminated film is used as base for prepaid cards, which is a preferred application of the present film, it contributes to the enhancement of security of the cards, and it also enables high-quality printing by thermal transfer method.

  • Patent number: 4973515
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a magnetic card comprising a monoaxially or biaxially stretched minute-cellular polyester film which has an apparent density of 0.4 to 1.3 g/cm.sup.3 and an opacifying power of 0.2 or more and a magnetic layer applied on at least one surface of said film.By using the polyester film containing small air bubbles as the base material of the magnetic card, flexibility, flatness and punching property, which were insufficient in a magnetic card using a conventional polyester film, are improved.

  • Patent number: 4871784
Abstract: The polyester film according to the present invention is produced by molding a composition comprising an aromatic polyester, 3 to 40 wt %, based on the amount of said polyester, of a crystalline polypropylene having a melt flow index of 0.2 to 120, and 0.001 to 3 wt %, based of the total amount of said polyester and said polypropylene, of a surface-active agent into a sheet; and stretching the thus obtained sheet at least one direction. The polyester film according to the present invention, which is obtained by the above process is low in the apparent specific gravity because of a large number of minute closed cells contained therein. Further, the polyester film according to the present invention shows a high opacifying power by adding a small amount of titanium oxide or without adding the titanium oxide, which have been added in a large amount. The polyester film can be used as the materials for printing plates and substrates in data devices.

  • Patent number: 4857396
Abstract: A film is disclosed, which comprises an at least uniaxially stretched finely cellulated polyester film of a high surface roughness having an apparent specific gravity in the range of 0.4 to 1.3 and an opacifying power of not less than 0.2, and a coating applied to either or both of the opposite surfaces of the polyester film. The coating applied to the minute-cellular polyester film serves the purpose of improving the adhesive property of the polyester film.
