  • Patent number: 6434324
Abstract: Video data controllers and disk array units are connected with an independent input serial transmission line and an independent output serial transmission line. Data is serially transmitted between the video data controllers and the disk array units. Data of the video data controllers is sent with time slots assigned thereto. Data has a synchronous signal at the beginning thereof. The synchronous signal synchronizes with time slots. The synchronous signal is followed by commands/status and video data.

  • Patent number: 6411770
Abstract: The endless recording which enables partial saving of recording contents and facilitates editing or management is to be achieved. To this end, if recording has been made for a pre-set time, such as one hour, a new region is secured to continue the recording, at the same time as a region carrying the oldest recorded contents is sequentially evacuated in an amount equal to the newly secured region. The partial saving region (00:10:00:00 to 00:20:00:00) is not to be evacuated.

  • Publication number: 20020049696
Abstract: In a data recording and reproducing apparatus (10), according to a release instruction from a server controller (30) added to a PLAY_OPEN command for requesting preparation of reproduction of arbitrary data, management information is changed so that an area occupied by reproduced data of the data in the on-producing file becomes an area where new data can be recorded anytime while the file is reproduced. As a result, for example, in the case where plural data are recorded, before the reproduction of the on-reproducing file is completed, the data recording area occupied by the reproduced data is changed into an area where new data can be recorded by efficiently utilizing recording areas in a data accumulation section (13) if on-producing file exists.

  • Patent number: 6351597
Abstract: Upon recording, movable terminals b of switches 112 and 119 are switched to the terminals a1 sides, whereas upon reproduction, they are switched to the terminals a2 sides. A controller 131 controls switches 114 and 118 so that memories 116-1 through- 3 respectively store the data from a decoder 111, e.g., the data in every predetermined units corresponding to individual one cycles of assigned time slots, for example. The respective data stored in the memories 116-1 through- 3 are successively read in predetermined time slots and recorded on recording unit through a time-sharing type bus 15. Upon reproduction, the respective data given in the predetermined units are successively written into the memories 116-1 through -3 in predetermined time slots through the bus 15 and output via an encoder 121 in one cycle of the time slots. Writing and reading processes are not executed simultaneously within the same memory and the recording and reproduction of data can be properly performed with ease.

  • Patent number: 6349349
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for storing and transmitting AV data. A receiving buffer unit for storing AV data temporarily, a transmitting buffer unit for storing temporarily the AV data to be transmitted, and a primary storage unit for storing AV data and a secondary storage units for storing AV data are connected to each other by means of a subnetwork. A server control unit for controlling the respective units is connected to the subnetwork. Since these units are connected by means of the subnetwork, any restriction is not given to spaces for installing the units. The capacities of the primary and secondary storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are selected so that they become larger in order of the secondary storage unit, the primary storage unit and the transmitting buffer unit. Thereby, the storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are controlled in a hierarchical form.

  • Patent number: 6279055
Abstract: A data input/output means comprises memories, each having two banks for storing a volume of data good for predetermined cycled period in an own time slot allocated to it and a control means accesses a recording medium in an own time slot to read out a volume of data for the first predetermined cycle period and store it in the first bank of the date input/output means and also read out a volume of data for the next predetermined cycle period on the way of reading out said data for the first predetermined cycle period and store it in the second bank of said data input/output means before starting the data output from the first bank after the elapse of a predetermined period of time, the switching from said first bank to said second bank being so controlled as to take place at a predetermined timing.

  • Patent number: 5719985
Abstract: A data compressing unit compresses information data inputted from an input unit. An input buffer unit temporarily stores the compressed data obtained by the data compressing unit. A recording/reproducing unit records the compressed data read out from the input buffer unit onto a recording medium, and reproduces the compressed data recorded on the recording medium. An output buffer unit temporarily stores the compressed data reproduced by the recording/reproducing unit. A data expanding unit expands the compressed data read out from the output buffer unit. An output unit outputs data expanded by the expanding unit. For this reason, when one set or cluster of information data is assumed to be information data file, it is possible to reproduce, without necessity of interruption of recording of the entirety of the information data file, the portion recorded earlier, e.g., by several minutes to several tens minutes within the same information data file.

  • Patent number: 5651115
Abstract: An information signal transmission device in which information signals are transmitted to requesting parties responsive to requests made by plural requesting parties. The signals of the leading end of the information signals are pre-stored in a versing-up memory and, when a request is made by a requesting party, an output signal of a buffer memory unit for time axis expansion is transmitted to such requesting party after an output signal of the versing-up memory unit is transmitted to such requesting party.
