  • Publication number: 20200170924
Abstract: Described herein is a method of conditioning the hair, the method including providing a hair care composition, adding a hydrofluoropropene to the hair care composition at a concentrated hair care composition to hydrofluoropropene weight ratio of from about 85:15 to about 98:2 to create a pressurized hair care composition, dispensing the pressurized hair care composition from an aerosol dispenser as a foam, applying the foam to the hair, and rinsing the foam from the hair. The hair care composition includes from about 0.5% to about 18% silicone, less than 8% high melting point fatty compound, and less than 5% cationic surfactant. The hair care composition has a viscosity of from about 1 centipoise to about 15,000 centipoise. The hair care composition has a high melting point fatty compound to silicone weight ratio of from about 0 to about 50:50.

  • Patent number: 10661974
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser having a valve cup. The valve cup has an internal interlock, for attachment of a valve assembly thereto. A seal is disposed below the interlock. This arrangement provides the benefit that components of the dispenser may be inserted past the interlock, and still seal product therein under pressure. The interlock may comprise threads or a bayonet fitting. The valve cup may be injection molded as a preform.

  • Patent number: 10640284
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser, and a valve cup for an aerosol dispenser. The aerosol dispenser, has an outer container with a crimp ring, to receive a valve cup clinched thereto. The valve cup has an outer wall with holes therethrough or vents having a vector component parallel to the outer wall. The hole or vents may be exposed to pressurized propellant and product due to deformation of the neck during undue internal pressurization. The holes and vents relieve propellant and product therethrough in the event of overpressurization.

  • Publication number: 20200108957
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser, outer container for an aerosol dispenser and a preform for an outer container, each include an open neck at the top and a closed end bottom. The open neck may include a first surface having a first surface diameter, a second surface disposed interior to the first surface and having a second surface diameter less than the first surface diameter, and a transition distinguishing the first surface from the second surface. For a dispenser and a container, a product delivery device may be disposed on the second surface and not interfere with a valve operable by a user when the valve is attached to the open neck in engagement with the first surface. At least one of the first and the second surfaces may be a sealing surface to prevent escape of propellant from the outer container to ambient when a valve is attached.

  • Patent number: 10596765
Abstract: A method of making an aerosol container suitable for use as an aerosol dispenser. The aerosol container includes at least a valve and product delivery device joined to an outer container. The method has the steps of sealing the valve to the product delivery device and outer container at respective annular welds or other bonds joining the valve to the product delivery and to the outer container. The welds, or other bonds may be concentric, with one circumscribing the other, in the same plane or different planes. Suitable product delivery devices include bags and dip tubes. Suitable welds include spin welds.

  • Patent number: 10538351
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser, outer container for an aerosol dispenser and a preform for an outer container, each having an open neck at the top and a closed end bottom longitudinally spaced therefrom. The aerosol dispenser has, in order, from the top of the neck, a valve attachment, an annular first surface and an annular second surface, each having a respective diameter. The diameter of the valve attachment is greater than the diameter of the first surface, which, in turn, is greater than the diameter of the second surface. This geometry allows any complimentary product delivery to be disposed on the second surface. Any suitable and complimentary valve may be attached to the valve attachment and sealed to the first surface. This arrangement provides flexibility and the capability to easily mix and match any desired combination of fittingly suitable outer containers, product delivery devices and valves. Suitable product delivery devices include bags, and dip tubes.

  • Patent number: 10526133
Abstract: A method of warming food dispensable from an aerosol dispenser. The aerosol dispenser is made from materials which can go into a single recycling stream having a single class of materials, as defined by the Society of the Plastics Industry, and particularly may exclusively comprise Class 1 materials suitable for eating in a microwave oven. Consumer products, such as food, contained in the aerosol dispenser may be heated in a microwave oven prior to dispensing. Upon dispensing, food retains residual heat, and is suitable for eating or further cooking. Other heated products in the aerosol dispenser may be comfortably applied to the skin, used as air freshener, used for cleaning, etc. The aerosol dispenser may have indicia indicating the aerosol dispenser is suitable for microwave heating. The aerosol dispenser can have indicia indicating the aerosol dispenser is suitable for heating in a microwave oven. The indicia may be thermochromic, indicating when a desired temperature has been reached.

  • Patent number: 10518961
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser, an outer container for an aerosol dispenser and a preform for an outer container. The aerosol dispenser, outer container and preform each have a neck, which in turn has a crimp ring, to receive a valve cup clinched thereto and a lower neck potion upon which the crimp ring is mounted. The lower neck portion extends between the bottom of the crimp ring and a shoulder which transitions into the sidewalls. The crimp ring preferably has a greater axial length than the lower neck portion. This geometry allows flexibility in the thickness throughout the thickness of the entire neck. The geometry advantageously minimizes distortion of the neck in the event of overpressurization.

  • Publication number: 20190352036
Abstract: A plural preform assembly having nested preforms. The preforms are held together by an interference fit. The interference fit is provided by the friction between the preforms which occurs when the inner preform is inserted into the outer preform. At least one preform may have ribs extending radially towards the other preform. The ribs provided concentricity and interference to hold the preforms together during subsequent operations. The preforms may later be blow molded to provide a bag in bottle or similar container.

  • Publication number: 20190276221
Abstract: A multi-piece valve stem. The multi-piece valve stem allows for interchangeability of component parts, without requiring several stems to fit related valves, as are commonly used for aerosol dispensers. The multi-piece valve stem also provides for assembly of valve stems having a larger head, and thus more seal area, than can occur with a single piece valve stem, as is conventionally used. Smaller stem bore diameters are also possible with a multi-piece valve stem.

The vents may be exposed to pressurized propellant and product due to deformation of the neck during undue internal pressurization. The cross section of the vents diverge in the downward direction to provide both flow area and for product and propellant and adequate area for the valve cup to be corrugatedly clinched to the crimp ring.
