  • Patent number: 6572527
Abstract: An apparatus is described that efficiently resupplies radioactive seeds to a brachytherapy applicator. A seed-holding system includes a holder and a transfer device. The holder, which may be disposable, stores the radioactive seeds and the transfer device, which may be reusable, helps shield and dispense the seeds. The holder is coupled to the transfer device, and the apparatus is mated to an applicator. After seeds have been dispensed, the apparatus may be disconnected from the applicator and the empty holder may be ejected from the transfer device, and replaced with a full holder.

  • Patent number: 6556539
Abstract: A system and method for reducing undesirable phase transients caused by revertive switchover in a telecommunications network. Selector switch settings are assigned priorities. The priorities indicate an order of preference in which to assign selector switch source inputs or outputs. Selector switch sources connected to equipments that are to be used as backups of one another are assigned the same priority level. Assignment of the same priority level prevents undesirable phase transients by controlling revertive switchovers. In addition, network topology is controllable using the priority table. The controllable characteristic of the network topology provides flexibility to a network designer to provide diversity among network paths such that the network is made more robust.

  • Publication number: 20030008101
Abstract: A molded plastic bathroom organizer fixture has a core body formed of a relatively rigid first plastic material and an outer body covering outer surface portions of the core body and formed of an elastomeric material overmolded on the core body and providing improved gripping of supported articles and frictional surfaces to enhance grasping by a user. The fixture is mountable on a wall surface by one or more such cups, which may be unitary with the outer body or may form part of a separate mounting structure engageable with the fixture in either pivoting or longitudinally sliding relationship therewith. The outer body may be light-transmitting to permit viewing therethrough of the core body, which may be formed of a visually distinguishable material. Portions of the outer surface of the core body may remain exposed. Each suction cup is oval and oriented with its long axis vertical or nearly vertical in use. A number of different embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020092941
Abstract: A spice grinding mill has a spice-containingjar with a collar on its neck carrying a frangible freshness seal which is removable to open the container. A grinding assembly is removably mountable on the container and has one or more manually operable latches engageable with keeper structure on the collar to releasably hold the grinding assembly in place, while permitting rotation of the outer portion of the grinding assembly relative to the container, which outer portion is covered with an elastomeric material for improved grip. A plastic cap is removably mountable on the collar or on the outlet of the grinding assembly.
