  • Patent number: 9755474
Abstract: An electrical device comprising a housing having cooling fins located in a central portion along an exterior surface of the housing and a laminated magnetic stack disposed within the housing and interfacing with an interior surface of the housing at the central portion. The cooling fins are configured alternatively higher and smaller on an inlet manifold and in opposition on an outlet manifold.

  • Publication number: 20150034771
Abstract: A device for supplying air to an auxiliary power unit for aircraft, including the auxiliary power unit; a turbocharger, and a cabin, the auxiliary power unit including a diesel engine coupled to the turbocharger in such a way that: the turbocharger includes a first air inlet in a compressor of the turbocharger coming from the cabin for its intake into a combustion chamber of the diesel engine, the diesel engine including: a first outlet carrying the air burnt by the combustion chamber to the turbocharger, the diesel engine delivering a power making it possible to supply an electric alternator and pressurising compressor, intended to pressurise a second air inlet, wherein the first air inlet is supplied by a fraction of pressurised air from the cabin of an aircraft.

  • Patent number: 8123470
Abstract: A turbine assembly for a turbocharger includes a variable nozzle formed by a sliding half-collar piston. A first-stage nozzle has a plurality of first vanes supported by a first nozzle ring and extending axially therefrom. A second-stage nozzle has a second nozzle ring connected to the ends of the first vanes, and a plurality of second vanes extending axially therefrom. The piston regulates flow through the second-stage nozzle, while the first-stage nozzle remains open when the piston is fully closed. The second nozzle ring at least partially divides the first vanes from the second vanes. The half-collar piston includes recesses that receive the second vanes and only partially surround the girth of each second vane.

  • Patent number: 7249930
Abstract: A turbine housing assembly includes a tubular piston disposed in a bore of a turbine housing and axially slidable between a closed position and an open position for blocking a nozzle by an amount dependent on axial positioning of the piston. A bypass control member is disposed in the turbine housing and is slidable between a no-bypass position closing a bypass passage and a open bypass opening the bypass passage. The piston is structured and arranged to slide relative to the bypass control member for a part of a full stroke of the piston from the closed position toward the open position thereof, and then to engage the bypass control member and cause the bypass control member to slide together with the piston as the piston further slides toward the open position thereof such that the bypass control member is moved toward the bypass position.
