  • Patent number: 8260122
Abstract: Executes a re-encoding after decoding data of a connection section A of a first MPEG picture data. This re-encoding is executed based on a control such that a transition of a VBV buffer occupation value starts from a VBV buffer occupation value at a position a and ends with a VBV buffer occupation value at a position d. Up to the position a of the first MPEG picture data, the first MPEG picture data is reproduced. Next, re-encoded MPEG picture data of the connection section A is reproduced. Thereafter, the data is connected to the position d of a second MPEG picture data, and the second MPEG picture data of the position d and after is reproduced.

  • Patent number: 8131131
Abstract: An output control (OPC) information is recorded on the magnetic tape 1 in conjunction with an MPEG stream. The OPC information is composed of two bits and is extracted from a reproduced signal by the output control circuit 9 and controls the digital interface (D. I/F) 7 and the switch circuit 11. In case a first bit of the OPC information is “0”, the output control circuit 9 makes the D. I/F 7 enabled and permits the output of a digital signal. In a case of “1”, the output control circuit 9 prohibits to output the digital signal. Further, when the second bit of the OPC information is “0”, the output control circuit 9 turns the switch circuit 11 off, preventing the output of an analog component signal. In case its “1”, the output control circuit 9 permits the output of the analog component signal.

  • Patent number: 7941030
Abstract: At the time of recording, only an edition point is recorded (step S4). At the time of reproduction, overlap time (A_overlap) between an audio frame to be reproduced last and an audio frame to be reproduced first, each including a video connection point is calculated and, further, offset time is calculated on the basis of the overlap time (step S12). Reproducing audio data by using the calculated offset time (step S14) enables reproduction be performed without a gap between audio frames around a connection point. Around connection points, by performing a window function multiplying process on audio data, audio samples are seamlessly connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 7747014
Abstract: A receiver sends a first random number to a transmitter. The transmitter generates a sync signal in response to the first random number sent from the receiver. The transmitter embeds the sync signal and key information in a second random number to generate a composite signal. In the composite signal, the sync signal is a position indicator for the key information. The transmitter sends the composite signal to the receiver. The transmitter generates an encryption key from the key information. The receiver detects the sync signal in the composite signal sent from the transmitter. The receiver extracts the key information from the composite signal in response to the detected sync signal. The receiver generates an encryption key from the extracted key information. The encryption key generated by the receiver is equal to that generated by the transmitter. Thus, the transmitter and the receiver hold the same encryption key in common.

  • Patent number: 7661001
Abstract: In an apparatus for encrypting an information signal into an encryption-resultant signal, a first encryption key peculiar to the present apparatus is generated. Key information is read out from a replaceable recording medium. A decision is made as to whether or not the read-out key information has been generated by an apparatus different from the present apparatus. A second encryption key is generated in response to the read-out key information when it is decided that the read-out key information has been generated by an apparatus different from the present apparatus. One is selected from the first encryption key and the second encryption key as a final encryption key. An information signal is encrypted in response to the final encryption key.

  • Patent number: 7650062
Abstract: Pictures are captured, and thereby moving-picture data is generated which represents a sequence of moving-picture fields. At least one picture is captured, and thereby still-picture data is generated which represents at least one still-picture frame corresponding in picture capture timing to one of the moving-picture fields represented by the moving-picture data. Components which correspond to said one of the moving-picture fields are removed from the still-picture data to generate supplementary still-picture information. Link information is generated which represents the picture capture timing correspondence between the still-picture frame and said one of the moving-picture fields. The moving-picture data, the supplementary still-picture information, and the link information are recorded on a recording medium.

  • Patent number: 7650061
Abstract: Pictures are successively captured, and thereby moving-picture data representing a stream of moving pictures is generated. At least one picture is captured, and thereby still-picture data representing at least one still picture is generated. The still picture corresponds in picture capture timing to first one of the moving pictures. Link information is generated which represents the correspondence in picture capture timing between the still picture and the first one of the moving pictures. Offset information is generated. The offset information designates a second one of the moving pictures which precedes the first one of the moving pictures by a prescribed time interval. Correspondence information is generated which includes a pair of the link information and the offset information. The moving-picture data, the still-picture data, and the correspondence information are recorded on a recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20100005364
Abstract: An input unit receives an information sequence. A first encoding unit performs at least a portion of a block encoding process on the information sequence to generate a first code sequence. A second encoding unit performs the block encoding process on a first check symbol sequence in the generated first code sequence to generate a second code sequence. A generating unit combines a second check symbol sequence in the generated second code sequence with the input information sequence to generate a third code sequence.

  • Patent number: 7580341
Abstract: Address information is recorded on an optical recording medium having groove portions and land portions. The groove portions form a recording track and are spaced at a constant track pitch. The land portions extend between the groove portions. The address information represents the positions of places on the optical recording medium. The recording of the address information is implemented as follows. The address information is converted into words of a self-synchronizable code. The words of the self-synchronizable code are subjected to bi-phase modulation to generate a bi-phase-modulation-result signal. The bi-phase modulation causes frequency modulation. Thus, the bi-phase-modulation-result signal is a frequency-modulation-result signal. The frequency-modulation-result signal is recorded on at least one sides of the groove portions to form wobble of the recording track.

  • Patent number: 7471795
Abstract: A sending apparatus generates a first initial vector, a second initial vector, and an encryption key in response to a pseudo random number. Original information is encrypted into cipher information in response to the encryption key and the second initial vector. The cipher information and the first initial vector are transmitted from the sending apparatus to a receiving apparatus. The receiving apparatus generates a first initial vector, a second initial vector, and an encryption key in response to a pseudo random number equal to that in the sending apparatus. The cipher information is decrypted back to the original information in response to the generated encryption key and the generated second initial vector. The receiving apparatus compares the received first initial vector and the generated first initial vector to check whether or not encryption/decryption-related synchronization between the sending apparatus and the receiving apparatus is normally maintained.
