The height adjustment mechanism adjusts the height of the rotary fulcrum section relative to the holding section to adjust the height of the automatic document feeder relative to the document bed and overlaps the holding section and the rotary fulcrum section in the vertical direction.

A light emission and exposure controller cyclically and intermittently exposes each of the plurality of pixel groups of the solid-state image sensor at the different exposure time to obtain pixel signals of types corresponding to a time difference between the reflected light and the radiation light, and a signal processor obtains information about the distance to the object according to pixel signals of adjacent pixels exposed at different exposure times for each of the plurality of pixel groups.

A separator changes a traveling direction of the foil film having passed through between the heating member and the pressure member into a direction different from a direction of conveyance of the sheet, to thereby separate the foil film from the sheet.
