  • Patent number: 5471559
Abstract: Fuzzy knowledge stored in a knowledge base is written into a memory. When fuzzy reasoning is executed by a fuzzy reasoning unit based on the content of the memory, a control unit in a central processing unit may modify the knowledge base in the memory. The control unit is programmed such that after it has modified the knowledge base in the memory, it causes a reasoning execution unit to repeatedly and automatically execute predetermined fuzzy reasoning by the number of times corresponding to the number of input data. The control unit also modifies the knowledge base and causes the reasoning execution unit to execute the fuzzy reasoning. By reading out the knowledge base in the memory, it is possible to verify the validity of the fuzzy knowledge without executing the simulation of the fuzzy reasoning. The fuzzy reasoning course of the reasoning execution unit may be stored in another memory.

  • Patent number: 5175795
Abstract: The invention is directed to an inference mechanism to execute human logical and fuzzy thought including intuitive thought. The mechanism consists of two independent engines. One engine is a frame inference engine based on human logical thought. The other engine is a fuzzy reasoning engine base on human fuzzy thought. The mechanism utilizes a common domain control to connect the two engines. After reading in the domain by the fuzzy reasoning engine, the engine draws inferences and writes the fuzzy reasoning result. The conventional inference engine operates in accordance with the results in the domain. For intuitive thought, for example, a procedure (model) is introduced for realizing an operation or a situation of an object. The frame engine commences execution of the procedure (model). The procedure (model) predicts objectives states under a present condition and outputs a predicted performance value requiring fuzzy reasoning on the domain.

  • Patent number: 5042620
Abstract: A control system for an elevator has a plurality of elevator information generation devices each of which has an information output unit which outputs elevator information to an elevator controller and also to at least one display controller which generates one or more on elevator displays. There are a plurality of display controllers, these are preferably connected to the information output units by a common transmission path. There may be a plurality of elevator controllers, when there are a plurality of elevator cabs, and those elevator controllers may all be connected to the common transmission path. There is then a supervisor controller for controlling the elevator controllers.

  • Patent number: 5018689
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position in which the distance between actual and target positions of the vehicle and the velocity and accleration of the vehicle are detected so as to perform brake control by selecting brake control notches on the basis of the detected values of the distance, the velocity and the acceleration to thereby stop the vehicle at the predetermined position, are featured in that the stop gap accuracy in the case where the notch presently on actuation is maintained as well as the stop gap accuracy are obtained as fuzzy values and compared with each other to thereby perform the notch selection.

  • Patent number: 4852007
Abstract: A method and a device for stopping a vehicle at a predetermined position in which the distance between actual and target positions of the vehicle and the velocity and acceleration of the vehicle are detected so as to perform brake control by selecting brake control notches or settings on the basis of the detected values of the distance, the velocity and the acceleration to thereby stop the vehicle at the predetermined position, wherein fuzzy values for a stop gap accuracy in the case where the present notch or brake control setting is maintained as well as a stop gap accuracy in the case when the notch or brake control setting is changed by a predetermined value are obtained and compared with each other to thereby perform the notch or brake control setting selection.

  • Patent number: 4756432
Abstract: A crane control method in which the parcels suspended from a rope is transversely carried by a trolley, the control being performed in an accelerating, a constant velocity travel, and a decelerating period separately, wherein the control is performed during said accelerating and decelerating only by turning on and off a predetermined accelerating and decelerating forces. More particularly, the control is performed by turning on and off the limit current value of the armature current through the motor. The present invention eliminates the necessity for feedback control by which a velocity pattern is followed.

  • Patent number: 4717029
Abstract: In a control method of a crane in which a parcel suspended by a rope is laterally transported by a trolley, the accelerating time and decelerating time of the trolley are obtained on the basis of the mass of trolley, mass of suspended parcel including a suspending device, and rope length, and when the trolley is started, the accelerating force which is necessary to allow the velocity of trolley to become an objective velocity for the accelerating time is instructed, and after this accelerating time has elapsed, the trolley is allowed to uniformly run at the objective velocity. During the constant speed running, the stop position of the trolley is predicted on the basis of the decelerating time. When the trolley reaches the start position of the decelerating operation such that the trolley can be stopped at the objective position, the decelerating force which is necessary to reduce the trolley velocity to zero for the decelerating time is instructed.

  • Patent number: 4617627
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of automatic vehicle operation which fulfills multi-dimensional performance indices by presetting the weight for power consumption, the weight for the riding comfort, and the like. The modification of running time relative to the standard running time to be spent between two stations, the allowable power consumption relative to the standard power consumption to be spent for the standard running between two stations, and the degree of improvement of riding comfort for the standard running between two stations are set prior to the departure from a station so as to determine control parameters to be used for divided regions of distance between two stations, and the speed of the vehicle between two stations is controlled using the selected control parameters.
