Abstract: A light-emitting element includes a first semiconductor layer doped to a first conductivity type, an active layer disposed on the first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer disposed on the active layer, the second semiconductor layer doped to a second conductivity type, and a passivation layer surrounding surfaces of the active layer, the passivation layer including a side surface of the active layer, and the passivation layer includes a semiconductor material that matches a lattice of a semiconductor material contained in the active layer, the semiconductor material has a band gap energy higher than that of the semiconductor material contained in the active layer.

Abstract: An image composing apparatus includes an image input unit which captures original images using front, rear, left, and right cameras of a vehicle; an external memory which stores the original images, a look up table, and a composite image; an original image window generating unit which sets an M×N basic pixel group to analyze a coordinate value based on the look up table and calculates a starting coordinate and a window size of the window in accordance with the coordinate value; an internal memory control unit which reads the original images in accordance with the starting coordinate and the window size to store the original image; an image composing unit which composes the original images read out based on the coordinate value to generate the composite image; and an image output unit which reads the composite image to output the composite image to a display device.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide approaches for managing mobile device originated meetings involving multiple mobile device users belonging to a group. Specifically, a meeting request is sent to the mobile device of each member of the group, and subsequent recognition of responding and non-responding members is established. Those members of the group failing to respond within a predetermined time period are sent a secondary meeting request in an attempt to solicit a response. An optimal meeting request and/or response message type is selected for each mobile device belonging to each member of the group. As such, interoperability between different devices and meeting systems is maintained, while also allowing those users sharing the same meeting system platform to communicate via push-notification internet-based messages, thereby decreasing reliance on cellular based short messaging service (SMS) messages.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide approaches for benefit promotion advertising in an augmented reality (AR) environment. Specifically, users are presented with an advertisement overlay generated for a video sequence from a mobile device. The advertisement overlay comprises a set of AR objects, and an incentive to the user to interact with the AR objects of the advertisement overlay. Responses from the user are recognized, and a benefit is provided to the user based on the response to the incentive. As such, advertisement campaigns in the AR environment are made more appealing to the user and, consequently, more effective for the advertiser.

Abstract: Provided are an image composing apparatus of an around view monitor system for changing a view mode easily and a method thereof. According to the apparatus and method, images are composed by using a look up table including records in which color representation information or coordinate information of input images is recorded for each screen output pixel and the composed image is outputted to a display device. Accordingly, the view mode can be freely configured by changing the look up table without changing the design of image composing logic.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a built-up type box-shaped steel column for filling concrete therein, that can be formed easily and economically in a built-up scheme by using ?-beams and steel plates, and a method for manufacturing the same that includes bonding a steel plate at the inner surface of a ?-shapes during a process of making a built-up type box-shaped steel column, thereby having a good resistance against a lateral pressure of concrete filled in the steel column and preventing the bonded portion from being exposed to the outside to provide a better outer appearance. The built-up type box-shaped steel column for filling concrete therein, includes: a ?-shapes disposed at each of the four corners of a box-shaped steel column to be formed; and a steel plate disposed between the ?-shapes adjacent to each other for connecting the ?-shapes with each other.
