  • Publication number: 20220204731
Abstract: A heavy vehicle tire tread that contains a rubber component and a reinforcing filler that includes silica and a second filler. A first and second vulcanization accelerator are used together with sulfur and a silane coupling agent in the tire tread, wherein the 300% modulus of the tire tread is 8 MPa or more. The silane coupling agent, sulfur and total reinforcing filler content in the tire tread composition are present in a ratio range of 1:0.4:0.4 to 1:1.4:1.4.

  • Publication number: 20210316575
Abstract: A tire includes a pair of beads and a crown region including a circumferential tread disposed radially above a circumferential belt. The tire further includes a pair sidewalls extending from the pair of beads to the crown region. A body ply wraps around the pair of beads and terminates in a pair of turn up ends in the crown region, below the middle 30% of the circumferential belt. A conductive substance is disposed along a strip of the body ply.

  • Patent number: 11065914
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to textile cords covered with a rubber composition of specified composition, tires having at least one component comprising the rubber-covered textile cords, and related methods for increasing aged cord coverage of rubber-covered textile cords and for preparing the rubber-covered textile cords. The rubber composition of specified composition includes silica filler in an amount of up to 20 phr and silane coupling agent in an amount of up to 5 phr.

  • Patent number: 11028256
Abstract: Disclosed herein are rubber compositions comprising a conjugated diene-containing polymer, a reinforcing filler including silica, a bi-functional silane coupling agent, and an unsaturated, non-sulfur silane coupling agent, where the ratio of the bi-functional silane coupling agent to the unsaturated, non-sulfur silane coupling agent is from about 5:1 to about 20:1. Also disclosed are related methods which include both in-situ reaction of the silica filler and the unsaturated, non-sulfur silane coupling agent and pre-reacting of at least a portion of the silica filler and at least a portion of the unsaturated, non-sulfur silane coupling agent.

  • Publication number: 20210094365
Abstract: A tire includes a body ply sheet having a rubber core defined by a top surface having a length and a width, a bottom surface having substantially the same length and width, and side surfaces having a common height. The body ply sheet includes reinforcement cords spaced 0.1-4.0 mm apart from each other and spanning the width of the body ply sheet. Bleeder cords are disposed on the body ply sheet and spaced are 8-12 cm apart from each other. Conductive cords are also disposed on the body ply and are spaced 20-80 cm apart from each other. At least one of the conductive cords has a first end and a second end, the first end being located in a region within a middle 80% of a width of the circumferential tread.

  • Patent number: 10894449
Abstract: A tire includes a body ply sheet having a rubber core defined by a top surface having a length and a width, a bottom surface having substantially the same length and width, and side surfaces having a common height. The rubber core is further defined by a top rubber layer and a bottom rubber layer. The body ply sheet includes reinforcement cords disposed between the top rubber layer and the bottom rubber layer. The reinforcement cords are spaced 0.1-4.0 mm apart from each other and span the width of the body ply sheet. Bleeder cords are disposed on the body ply sheet and spaced 8-12 cm apart from each other. Conductive cords are also disposed on the body ply and spaced 20-80 cm apart from each other.
