Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for eliminating useless waiting and needless packet retransmission in a radio link protocol (RLP) system having a RLP sender and a RLP receiver with one or more reception buffers, the method comprising checking for any missing packet upon receiving a transmission by the RLP receiver, sending one or more negative acknowledgements (Naks) for every missing packet to the RLP sender by the RLP receiver, retransmitting by the RLP sender only packets requested by one or more negative acknowledgements (Naks) when the RLP sender also receives a transmission suspension request, and receiving transmissions by the RLP receiver after the transmission suspension request has been sent out by the RLP receiver.

Abstract: A jetting performance tester designed to evaluate jetting performance of a plurality of jetting heads each having a plurality of nozzles, after real-time measurement of jetting conditions of droplets ejected from the plurality of jetting heads. The jetting performance tester includes a camera unit to detect droplets ejected from the jetting heads, a driving unit to provide relative movement between the jetting heads and the camera unit in two or more directions orthogonal to each other, and a controller to evaluate jetting performance of the jetting heads based on jetting conditions of the droplets detected by the camera unit.

The method includes the steps of storing RLC SDUs transferred from an upper layer in a transmission buffer, transmitting RLC PDUs on which the RLC SDUs stored in the transmission buffer are loaded to a receiving side in order, discarding the RLC SDUs stored in the transmission buffer, checking whether a transmission mode indicator is configured, and transmitting discard information about the discarded RLC SDUs to the receiving side entirely or in part in accordance with whether the transmission MRW mode indicator is configured.

Abstract: A method for controlling the transmission of signals in a communications system uses a polling trigger which prevents a deadlock condition from occurring between a transmitter and receiver. The method includes selecting a protocol data unit from a buffer, determining whether the data unit is located at a predetermined position within a transmission window, and then transmitting polling information with the data unit if the data unit is determined to be at the predetermined position of the transmission window. The predetermined position is preferably a last position of the window. If the data unit is not in a last position of the transmission window, additional steps of the method include determining whether the data unit is a last-stored data unit in a transmission buffer. If so, polling information is transmitted with the data unit. If neither polling trigger is satisfied, the data unit is transmitted without polling information.

Abstract: The present invention relates to transmitting data units of a radio protocol layer, wherein one logical channel identifier is added to one or more data units belonging to one logical channel. Because only one logical channel identifier is added to the data units belonging to one logical channel in constructing a MAC-e PDU, overheads of the MAC-e PDU are reduced. Such reduction of the PDU overheads increases data throughput, which is advantageous for a high-speed data communication system, such as the HSUPA.

Abstract: The present invention relates to combining point-to-multipoint service data in a mobile terminal of a wireless communication system. A mobile terminal receiving MBMS service data of a current cell in a MAC entity while concurrently receiving the same MBMS service data from a neighboring cell in a MAC entity discards any received data not related to MBMS. Accordingly, any unnecessary operation of the terminal in simultaneously receiving the MBMS service from different cells is minimized. Thus, the mobile terminal effectively receives the MBMS service.

Abstract: The present invention relates to notifying updated control information of a point-to-multipoint service in a wireless communications system. An indication about whether control channel information has been updated is transmitted and received during a time interval where data of the point-to multipoint service is not transmitted between a network and a mobile terminal. Furthermore, and indication about whether the control channel information has been updated is transmitted and received via a physical channel, to which a traffic channel is mapped. This allows the mobile terminal, which receives data of a specific point-to-multipoint service discontinuously, to effectively recognize whether the control channel information has been updated.

A transmitter transmits a control protocol unit having processing time information, wherein the processing time information indicates to a receiver of when to process the control protocol data unit. Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for referencing a physical channel carrying point-to-multipoint service data in a wireless communication system. The present invention utilizes an identifier to reference specific physical channel configurations previously sent to a mobile terminal from a network. The identifier may reference an entry in a list of physical channel configuration in a specific message. Alternatively, a physical channel configuration in a first message is first allocated a specific identity. Then, a specific identifier referencing the specific identity is used in a second message to identify the physical channel configuration in the first message.

Abstract: The present invention relates to transmitting and receiving a notification of control information for a point-to-multipoint service. Preferably, a mobile terminal receives notification information from a network during a first period. The mobile terminal then determines to receive a control channel during a second period for receiving a control information message according to the notification information. Configuration information for establishing the reception of a physical channel carrying point-to-multipoint services is sent via a point-to-multipoint control channel to a mobile terminal. Validity information is sent together with the configuration information for indicating to the mobile terminal when or how long the configuration information is valid. The configuration information may be valid during a current modification period, after a given activation time, or up to a given activation time. Thus, a mobile terminal can avoid using an invalid physical channel configuration.

Abstract: In an apparatus and paging method for a broadcast and multicast service (MBMS) in a mobile communication system, a network transmits a terminal paging indication channel (PICH) frame and an MBMS paging indication channel (MICH) frame such that the MICH frame is transmitted after a certain time from the transmission of the PICH frame. A mobile terminal receives the PICH frame during a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, and only when MICH indication information is included in the PICH frame does the mobile terminal recieve the MICH frame. Thus, power consumption of the mobile terminal is considerably reduced.
