  • Patent number: 11540734
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a performance metric of a heart includes a housing, a tactile sensor, a finger clamp, a linear actuator, and a controller. The tactile sensor measures blood pressure pulsatility in a digital artery of a finger via applanation tonometry and outputs pulsatility signals indicative of the blood pressure pulsatility. The finger clamp extends from the housing to clamp the finger against the tactile sensor with the digital artery aligned over the tactile sensor. The linear actuator drives the finger clamp with a clamping force directed along a linear path. The controller is coupled to the tactile sensor and the linear actuator to control the clamping force and to generate pulsatility data, based upon the pulsatility signals, from which the performance metric of the heart may be determined.

  • Patent number: 11291397
Abstract: An ECG monitoring system for ambulatory patients includes a small multi-electrode patch that adhesively attaches to the chest of a patient. A reusable battery-powered ECG monitor clips onto the patch and receives patient electrical signals from the electrodes of the patch. A processor continuously processes received ECG signals and stores the signals in memory in the monitor. The processor also analyzes the received ECG signals for predefined arrhythmia. If an arrhythmia is detected, a wireless transceiver in the ECG monitor transmits the event information and an ECG strip to a cellphone handset. The cellphone handset automatically relays the event information and ECG strip to a monitoring center for further diagnosis and necessary intervention.

  • Publication number: 20200015689
Abstract: A wearable blood pressure meter includes a cuff, a tactile sensor, a cuff actuator, and a controller. The cuff is sized and shaped to wear around a body part having an artery. The tactile sensor is disposed on or adjacent to an inward facing surface of the cuff. The tactile sensor is positioned along the inward facing surface to align with the artery and to measure pressure applied to the tactile sensor by the artery when the cuff is worn around the body part. The cuff actuator is mechanically coupled to the cuff to cinch the cuff around the body part. The controller is coupled to the tactile sensor to record pressure signals from which a blood pressure measurement may be determined.
