Abstract: A life management system for high-temperature parts of a gas turbine has one server system 3 and a plurality of client systems 5a, 5b, 5c, and 5d, all of which are connected via an Intranet. Further, the server system 3 manages a program for performing evaluation of the remaining life and the life management, and each of the client systems 5a, 5b, 5c, and 5d has a subprogram for accessing the database 4 and for entering data respectively. The clients are dedicated to different objects and share respective element data such as real component damage, design, materials, etc. which are necessary for the evaluation of the remaining life. Further, this system enables the operation of the gas turbine to be optimized based on the damage of the evaluated parts, hence contributing to operational cost reduction of the gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 5902458
Abstract: A steam stripping substance, which is obtained by steam distillation of sesame oil under reduced pressure and contains sesamin analogues substantially, is mixed with water, a water-soluble solvent or their mixture serving as solvent. Sesamin analogues are caused to precipitate in this mixed system in the presence of more than one equivalent of an alkali with respect to the acid value of the steam stripping substance. The precipitated sesamin analogues are then separated from the mixed system.

  • Patent number: 4875170
Abstract: The life expectancy of a mechanical structure that undergoes repeated loading is estimated by determining the maximum crack length on the surface of the structure. The maximum length of the cracks on the surface of the structure is related to the life ratio of the structure, wherein the life ratio is a ratio of the number of loads the structure has undergone to the number of loads the structure will undergo until failure. An optical system is used to measure the crack length of the cracks on the surface of the structure being inspected. A statistical distribution of greatest length cracks for a sampling of areas within a larger area can be made. Apparatus is provided to statistically process such distribution data to obtain a statistically estimated maximum length crack for the larger area. The maximum crack length determination can be used to estimate the life expectancy of the structure from the relationship between crack length and life ratio.

  • Patent number: 4523138
Abstract: A drive control method for stepping motors as used in connection with controlling throttle valves for internal combustion engines. A computer controls actuation of the throttle valve in accordance with engine operating conditions and the like, as well as the amount of fuel being injected to the engine. The method includes steps for increasing the response speed of the stepping motor without detracting from its resolution. Instead of predetermined rotation angles, the stepping motor repeatedly actuates in a time period which is determined as the sum of its stationary time after one rotation step, and its stationary time after the following one rotation step. This enables obtaining substantially smaller and hence faster angular displacements of the stepping motor than use of predetermined unit rotation angles.
