  • Patent number: 5825366
Abstract: According to the method of synthesizing a image from a plurality of images, each of the luminance I.sub.p1xy -I.sub.pNxy of each of the pixel p.sub.1xy -p.sub.Nxy positioned at the same coordinates (x,y) of N images P.sub.1 -P.sub.N are compared with each of the predetermined threshold luminance T.sub.1 -T.sub.N corresponding to images P.sub.1 -P.sub.N, wherein "N" is a natural number greater than 1. If the luminance I.sub.p1xy -I.sub.pNxy of the pixels p.sub.1xy -p.sub.Nxy are all greater than the corresponding threshold T.sub.1 -T.sub.N of corresponding image, the synthesized pixel p.sub.xy at the coordinate (x,y) of a synthesized image is determined by synthesizing the pixels p.sub.1xy -p.sub.Nxy with predetermined synthesis ratio for each of the images P.sub.1 -P.sub.N. If the condition described above is not satisfied, the synthesized pixel p.sub.

  • Patent number: 5781661
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a handwriting information detecting method and apparatus for the same, in which a user can choose any handwriting tool such as a pen or a pencil, and when the user writes with the tool, the handwriting information can be detected. The handwriting information detecting method of the present invention comprises steps of detecting a motion of a writing tool, held by a writing tool holder comprising at least one acceleration sensor, based on at least one acceleration signal output from the at least one acceleration sensor when the writing tool is grasped by fingers; and recognizing handwriting information of a character or a figure written by the writing tool according to the detected motion thereof, and outputting the information.

  • Patent number: 4585722
Abstract: Optical recording medium includes a substrate, a coloring agent layer formed on the substrate, a light absorber layer formed on the coloring agent layer and a developer layer formed on the light absorber layer. The coloring agent layer is separated from the developer layer by the light absorber layer and the lamination layer composed of these layers has a uniform thickness. The optical recording medium is produced by vacuum depositing a coloring agent, a light absorber and a developer successively on the substrate to form a multi-layer construction, the substrate being capable of transmitting visible light and near infrared light. Alternatively, the optical recording medium contains a plurality of lamination layers mentioned above. The optical recording medium has a high contrast and achieves a high speed multi-color recording.

  • Patent number: 4381269
Abstract: In a sealed system, a polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent are added to a methyl methacrylate monomer distilled under reduced pressure condition via a distillation step of the former both ingredients, the methyl methacrylate monomer is successively polymerized to prepare a core polymer while maintaining the reduced pressure condition, then the resulting core polymer is subjected to melt spinning to form a core fiber while maintaining the sealed system, and a clad of a macromolecular compound having a refractive index lower than that of the aforesaid core fiber is adhered around the periphery thereof, whereby a low-loss plastic optical fiber with excellent optical transmission characteristics having a core-cladding structure is fabricated. Plastic optical fibers so made exhibit light attenuation as low as 60 dB/km or lower.

  • Patent number: 4320292
Abstract: A coordinate input apparatus. A pair of optical guide channel arrays each including a required number of parallel optical guide channels (11, 12) which contain optical scatterer (22) are superposed to form an input board (100) with the optical guide channels of the two arrays intersected at right angles. Light is detected which is scattered by the optical scatterer (22) in the optical guide channels (11, 12) corresponding to irradiation of one point on the input board by a light pen (10) and reaches end surfaces (11a, 12a) of the optical guide channels. The detected signals are processed to form a binary signal train representative of the coordinate of the light pen (10).
