  • Patent number: 7650812
Abstract: A shift lever has a detent rod which is movable along a longitudinal direction of a lever main body. A knob, which is graspably mounted to a distal end portion of the shift lever, has an attachment hole, and a holder is attached in the attachment hole. The holder has a button which is reciprocatingly movable into and out of the attachment hole, and a link which is interlocked with movement of the button. When the button is moved inwardly, the link abuts the detent rod, and moves the detent rod along the longitudinal direction of the lever main body. When the link moves reciprocatingly at the inner side of the knob, the link abuts the inner side of the knob. Elastic members which elastically deform are provided at the link and at a region of the inner side of the knob which region is abutted by the link.

  • Patent number: 6182530
Abstract: A shift lever device enables liquid such as drinking water or the like to be smoothly drained to the outside when liquid is accidently spilled on the device. The shift lever device has a housing that includes a side wall where a drain is formed. In one embodiment, the upper surface of the housing includes a projecting portion in the form of a rib for guiding liquid spilled on the housing to the drain of the side wall. Alternatively, the device includes a liquid guard roof overhanging from an upper edge of an aperture of the side wall of the housing for guiding spilled liquid into the drain. The shift lever device may also include a liquid escaping gap being provided at a bearing potion of the housing by which a slide cover is slidably supported; a liquid receiving gutter for receiving the liquid drained from the liquid escaping portion; and a drainage hole in the side wall of the housing, whereby the drained liquid is guided to a place outside of the interior of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6109414
Abstract: A shift lever device is provided that includes a shift lever, an interlocking member movable from a first position to a second position, a detent member that abuts the interlocking member at the first position and restricts the shifting operation if the shift lever is shifted from the parking range position to another range position, a restricting member movable between a shift-lock state and a shift-lock released state for allowing or preventing the interlocking member to move from the first position to the second position; a manual operation mechanism which allows the restricting member to be manually moved from the shift-locked state to the shift-lock released state, and an actuator connecting member that moves integrally with the restricting member due to the operation of an actuator. When the restricting member is placed in a shift-locked state, it can be moved by the manual operation mechanism into the shift-lock released state.

  • Patent number: 5979263
Abstract: An opening into which a shift lever is inserted is formed on a cover slide main body. Normally, the cover slide main body moves with the shift lever. A side wall and auxiliary walls project from the opening at the rear surface side portion of the opening. The side wall blocks the opening side from the mark piece portion side. The auxiliary walls maintain rigidity of the cover slide main body around the opening. The side wall prevents light irradiated to the mark piece portion from escaping through a gap between the opening and the shift lever, and prevents water or the like from entering and splashing into the main body from outside thereof.

  • Patent number: 5809839
Abstract: There is provided a shift lever device of which structure is simplified and assembling and manufacturing operation is facilitated and which can be manufactured at a low cost. A pivot-supporting retainer portion is provided at a base end portion of a shift lever and a detent pin is mounted at an intermediate portion of the shift lever. A retainer-portion insertion hole and a lever-shaft-portion through hole are formed in a base member and in a box-shaped pivot-supporting housing portion. The retainer portion is inserted into and supported at a bottom portion of the pivot-supporting housing portion. Further, a detent pin is provided to face a detent opening of a detent portion formed to project from peripheral edges of the retainer-portion insertion hole and the lever-shaft-portion through hole, and in this state, the shift lever provided with the retainer portion and the detent pin can be mounted in the base member.
