  • Patent number: 10978817
Abstract: A substrate-mounting connector includes a housing, a contact mounted to the housing, and a shield shell. The shield shell includes a first plate and a second plate disposed adjacently. A part of the first plate serves as a first contact portion. A first extension piece is formed in the second plate. A part of the first extension piece serves as a second contact portion. A part of the housing serves as a pressing portion facing the first plate, in a covering state in which the shield shell is mounted to the housing. A part of the first plate, different from the first contact portion, or a part of the first extension piece, different from the second contact portion, serves as a pressed portion pressed by the pressing portion in the covering state. The pressing portion presses the pressed portion to make the first contact portion contact the second contact portion.

  • Patent number: 8876543
Abstract: A connector is mateable with a mating connector having a mating terminal. The connector comprises a housing and a terminal held by the housing. The housing has an accommodating portion and a lock portion which are formed integrally. The terminal is accommodated in the accommodating portion so as to be connectable to the mating terminal. When the connector is in a mated state where the connector is mated with the mating connector, the lock portion locks the mated state. In detail, the lock portion has a flexible portion and a lock protrusion. The flexible portion is located over the accommodating portion. The lock protrusion is provided on the flexible portion. No wall is provided between the flexible portion and the accommodating portion so that the flexible portion is resiliently deformable toward the accommodating portion. The lock protrusion moves downward when the flexible portion is resiliently deformed downward.

  • Patent number: 5947767
Abstract: An electrical connector has an insulative housing, a fixture, and a shield. The fixture is used for fixing this insulative housing on a circuit board, and the shield is to cover the insulative housing. The insulative housing, which is made of an electrically insulating material, comprises a main body and an engaging portion, which protrudes forward from the main body to engage with a matable connector. The insulative housing also comprises fixture retaining slots, which extend through the main body in the vertical or to-and-fro direction at the lateral ends of the main body of the housing. Into each of these fixture retaining slots, a fixture, which is made of an electrically conductive metallic material, is press-fit to fix the insulative housing onto a circuit board. The shield, which is made of an electrically conductive metallic material, comprises a peripheral portion and contact portions in a one-piece body.

  • Patent number: 5904597
Abstract: A surface-contact connector comprises a plurality of terminals 50 and a housing 11. The terminals 50 are made of an electrically conductive, resilient material and are formed in an identical shape. These terminals 50 are retained in the housing 11 in a row. Each terminal 50 includes an anchoring portion 51, an resilient portion 54, and a contacting portion 55. The anchoring portion 51 is fixedly retained in the housing 11, and the resilient portion 54, which is capable of elastic deformation, extends from the anchoring portion 51. The contacting portion 55 is continuous from a front end of the resilient portion 54 to protrude in the direction of engagement with a part to be electrically connected to. The housing 11 is provided with protrusion-regulating portions 16 and 17 which meet with the resilient portions 54 or contacting portions 55 of the terminals to regulate the amounts of protrusion of the contacting portions 55 in the direction of the engagement.
