  • Patent number: 5664220
Abstract: When a transmission request reception process controller accepts a request to transmit information, the information is read from a memory in order of addresses generated by an address generator. A transmission information generator adds addresses of the information to the read information, for transmission to the transmission requester. When accepting another request to transmit the same information while the information is being transmitted, the transmission request reception process controller causes the information to be transmitted to the latter transmission requester starting at the current point in the information being transmitted to the former transmission requester. After generating the last address of information, the address generator returns to the top address and again continues generating the addresses of the information. The information read from the memory according to the generated addresses is transmitted from output circuits 14 and 16.

  • Patent number: 5539535
Abstract: An imaging and recording apparatus for electrically recording an optical image of a subject as an image information signal which facilitates memory access from an external device and prevents image information from being changed. Upon manipulation of a recording trigger switch, an image outputted from a camera signal processing circuit at that time is written into a semiconductor memory, then subjected to data compression in a data compression circuit, and stored in a semiconductor memory. It is now assumed that an external device not illustrated is connected to a connector and this external device orders taking in the image of the semiconductor memory. If at this time the semiconductor memory is writing an image, a state detection circuit detects the fact and inhibits the external device from taking in the image. Furthermore, while the external device is taking in the image of the semiconductor memory, the state detection circuit detects this fact.

  • Patent number: 5528433
Abstract: A video tape recorder enables a normal video signal for an aspect ratio of 4:3 or a wide-picture video signal for a greater aspect ratio of, for example, 16:9 to be selectively recorded/reproduced onto and from a magnetic tape. In order to identify which of the aspect ratios the reproduced video signal is based on, a recording mode signal indicative of the aspect ratio is recorded on the magnetic tape together with the video signal. A code signal or a pilot signal is used for the recording mode signal. In the reproducing operation, the aspect ratio of a reproduced picture is recognized from the recording mode signal, and a signal indicative of the aspect ratio is delivered to an external device, such as a television set, together with reproduced video/audio signals. In a case where the reproduced picture is a wide picture and where the external device does not conform to the wide picture, the aspect ratio of the video signal is changed.

  • Patent number: 5432650
Abstract: A VTR capable of recording information signals, such as a time code, and more particularly providing a configuration for after-recording the information signals for controlling the operation of the VTR, which comprises an operation panel; a mode determination block for determining a mode to be next switched; an information signal processing block for recording and reproducing the information signals; and a recording period setting circuit for determining a recording period of the information signals. A mode signal inputted through the operation panel is recorded on a predetermined position on a magnetic tape. When such a magnetic tape is reproduced, the VTR is forcibly set in a mode determined by the mode signal at the time of detecting the mode signal.

  • Patent number: 5388009
Abstract: A recording method is provided for a video tape recording apparatus having modes for recording PCM audio signals in a plurality of transmission rates. Index codes for a video signal, which enable a search reproduction and so on, are recorded on a video tape in a constant transmission rate irrespective of the transmission rate of a PCM audio signal to be recorded. Further, an amble pattern at the same frequency as the transmission rate of the PCM audio signal is recorded immediately behind the PCM signal recording area. A reproducing apparatus may be provided only with an index detecting circuit corresponding to the constant transmission rate.

  • Patent number: 5109305
Abstract: Four heads are mounted with 90.degree. spacings between them to a rotary cylinder that rotates by 3/4 turn in each one field period of a video signal. Adjacent pairs of these heads having the 90.degree. spacing have different azimuth angles while opposing pairs of the heads having the 180.degree. spacing have mutually the same azimuth angle. A tape is wound helically in about 3/4 turn on the rotary cylinder and travelled thereon, so that the frequency of a pilot signal for tracking control to be recorded on each track with a video signal by each head is different between the tracks and the same frequency as the frequency of the pilot signal reproduced from the reproduction track in the reproducing mode is used as a reference pilot signal for tracking in the reproducing mode.

  • Patent number: 4992891
Abstract: A pair of recording heads are mounted on a rotary cylinder for recording a video signal in slanted tracks on magnetic tape. The recording heads are mounted in a common plane and each has a different azimuthal angle. A pair of reading heads are mounted on the same rotary cylinder for reading the video signal recorded on the magnetic tape. The reading heads are mounted in a plane offset from the plane of the recording heads and have azimuthal angles that match the azimuthal angles of the recording heads. A mixing circuit mixes a component of the video signal ready from the magnetic tape by one of the recording heads with a video signal from a video signal source to generate a mixed video signal. The mixed video signal is returned to one of the recording heads for recordation on the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 4991026
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for eliminating the crosstalk component from an adjacent track of a tape of a VTR and obtaining a high picture quality. Chrominance signals in the base band which are produced by a low frequency conversion chroma signal are supplied to comb-shaped filters which are used in the magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. The chrominance signals in the base band are obtained by generating carriers synchronized with a burst signal of the low frequency conversion chroma signal including the jitter component upon reproduction and by multiplying the carriers and the low frequency conversion chroma signal. A burst signal portion between the resultant chrominance signals in the base band is applied as a frequency control input signal to an oscillator as the carrier generating source, so that desired carriers are derived. Thus, the frequency fluctuation is eliminated from the converted chrominance signal in the base band and the high picture quality can be realized.
