Publication number: 20250069827Abstract: A high-reliability multi-function switch is a device that enables the determination of the “ON” and “OFF” functionality of a host application as well as the operating speed of the host application. To do so, the device includes at least one push button switch and at least one pressure transducer. The at least one push button switch enables the determination of the power functionality of the host application. The at least one push button switch triggers the host application to perform different functionalities according to the current position of the at least one push button switch. The at least one pressure transducer enables the determination of the operating speed of the host application by measuring the pressure applied to engage the at least one push button switch. The at least one pressure transducer further increase the reliability of the device by eliminating friction caused by mechanical contact between moving components.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2024Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventor: Shiju Wang

Patent number: 9677913Abstract: Inductive displacement sensors and methods of using them may be useful in a variety of contexts. For example, systems for precisely measuring linear or angular motion may use inductive displacement sensors to measure changes in position. An apparatus, such as a sensor, can include a primary inductor. The apparatus can also include a first secondary inductor that is field-coupled to the primary inductor. The apparatus can further include a second secondary inductor that is field-coupled to the primary inductor. The first secondary inductor and the second secondary inductor can be configured as coordinated inductors to detect motion of a coupler. The coordinated inductors can be configured to provide a reference signal and a measurement signal, wherein the reference signal has a constant amplitude across a range of motion of the coupler.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2015Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: MICROSEMI CORPORATIONInventors: Shiju Wang, Timothy R.
