  • Patent number: 4584613
Abstract: A video signal recording apparatus for recording a video signal on a magnetic tape includes an oscillator which generates an oscillation signal; a variable frequency divider for frequency dividing the oscillation signal; a control circuit for controlling the frequency-dividing ratio of the variable frequency divider in accordance with the speed of advancement of the magnetic tape during the recording operation; a frequency divider for generating a plurality of synchronizing signals in response to the output of the variable frequency divider; a camera including an image transducer from which the video signal is obtained in correspondence to incident light from an object image projected on the image transducer, and a transmission device for transmitting the signal from the image transducer at a rate determined by the synchronizing signals; and a recording section including a processing circuit for separately processing the luminance and chrominance components of the transmitted video signal, and at least one tr

  • Patent number: 4007482
Abstract: In recording periodic information signals, such as, the chrominance signal components of video signals, having first or field intervals and second or line intervals which are recorded in respective areas or increments of successive parallel tracks on a record medium with the ends of the margins between the areas in which the second or line intervals are recorded in each of the tracks being aligned in the direction transverse to the lengths of the tracks, with the adjacent ends of such margins in the next adjacent tracks; interference or cross-talk between signals recorded in adjacent tracks is reduced or eliminated during reproduction by recording the information signals with different first and second carriers in the adjacent tracks, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4007484
Abstract: A plurality of transducers are rotated or otherwise moved in respect to a record medium so as to be successively operatively positioned relative to the latter in a repeating cyclic order for recording and/or reproducing video signals in successive parallel tracks on the record medium. Interference or cross-talk between signals recorded in adjacent tracks is reduced or eliminated during reproduction by recording the chrominance signal components of the video signals with different first and second carriers in the adjacent tracks, respectively. Pulse signals are produced upon the operative positioning of each of the transducers, and the first and second carriers are selected for recording of the chrominance signal components in the tracks which are next adjacent each other in response to every other one of the pulse signals.

  • Patent number: 3947871
Abstract: In a color video signal reproducing apparatus having a plurality of magnetic heads, chrominance signals contained in color video signals respectively reproduced by the plurality of magnetic heads are separately subjected to level or gain control with a view to being equal in level, the levels of the respective chrominance signals are discriminated or detected and, when the level of any one or more of the chrominance signals is outside the control range of the above level or gain control, a so-called color killer operation is carried out.

  • Patent number: 3939485
Abstract: In a system in which the polarity of the frequency converted chrominance signal or carrier is reversed during alternate lines of alternate fields recorded on alternate tracks on a recording medium and not reversed during the lines that make up the remaining alternate fields recorded in h-alignment on the remaining alternate tracks positioned in interleaving relationship with the first-mentioned tracks, logic-controlled switching means are provided to select the field intervals during which the plurality of the chrominance subcarrier will be reversed in alternate lines. The same logic circuits can be used to control the switching during both recording and reproducing so that the alternate plurality reversal of the chrominance subcarrier will take place during the proper fields during reproduction of the recorded signals.
