  • Publication number: 20190230420
Abstract: The present technology relates to a transmission device, a transmission method, a reception device, a reception method, and a program that allow to make a change dynamically in time stamps which are already transmitted. The transmission device transmits time stamps in a same MPU in which a change is made from already transmitted time stamps so that the time stamps can be received before decoding is started. When the time stamps in the same MPU including the change are received, the reception device updates the time stamps in a time stamp memory and can dynamically change the time stamps since decoding is performed according to the updated time stamps. The present technology can be applied to the transmission device and the reception device.

  • Patent number: 10262690
Abstract: Reduction in reproduction quality is suppressed in an imaging device that images a sound and a moving image. A frame rate converter converts a frame rate of a frame captured outside a predetermined period among a plurality of frames captured at a predetermined frame rate to a low frame rate lower than the predetermined frame rate. A duplication unit duplicates an original sound signal recorded over the predetermined period to generate a plurality of duplicated sound signals each of which is identical to the original sound signal. The audio signal processing unit performs different signal processing on each of the plurality of duplicated sound signals.

  • Patent number: 10218626
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a data processing device, a receiving device, a data processing method, and a program that can suppress the occurrence of reproduction faults caused by a reduction in bit rate. An input packet classifying unit classifies an input packet as a high priority packet or a low priority packet according to priority order based on data included in packets configuring a stream. An output packet selecting unit preferentially selects and outputs a packet of high priority order from among packets that have been classified by the input packet classifying unit and being retained in a high priority packet FIFO or a low priority packet FIFO. The present technology is applied to, for example, a receiving device that can receive a plurality of streams.

  • Publication number: 20180248653
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a receiving apparatus and a method therefor which are capable of decreasing a processing load and efficiently improving reproduction quality. A packet accumulating unit stores packets and packet type, and another packet information. A statistics information accumulating unit accumulates statistics information (e.g., an error ratio, performance (processing condition) of the receiving apparatus, a condition of a stream, and a condition of a buffer). A packet-correcting-method selecting unit selects a packet correcting method from a packet correction table generated in accordance with the packet information and packet identification/statistics information from the statistics information accumulating unit, and supplies a packet to be corrected to a packet correcting unit in a case where the packet in process is determined to be a target of correction. For example, the present disclosure can be applied to a communication system that transmits and receives data.

  • Publication number: 20180242035
Abstract: The present technology relates to a reception device, data processing method, and a program which make it possible to smoothly switch the output of data in a case where data transmitted via different transmission paths is received to be output. A reception device includes: a reception unit that receives a plurality of pieces of data separately transmitted via different transmission paths and given time stamps corresponding to each other; an output control unit that selects data to be output from among the plurality of pieces of data and controls a timing of outputting the selected data on the basis of the time stamp of a piece of data having a latest time stamp among the plurality of pieces of data; and an accumulation unit that accumulates at least the plurality of pieces of data given the time stamps later than the time stamp of the data that has been output from among the received plurality of pieces of data.

  • Publication number: 20180227622
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a receiving apparatus and method, and a transmitting apparatus, and method capable of improving a reproduction quality in a state where a packet loss occurs. In a MMTP packet header, in a case where extension_flag=1 in the sixth row from the top is satisfied, a configuration is defined in which description regarding an extension header can be made in the 16th to 22nd rows. As a method 1, this is used to newly define a type of an AU sequence number in extension_type, and the AU sequence number included in the MMTP packet is described in header_extension_byte. The present disclosure is applied to, for example, a communication system that transmits and receives data by using a transmission method used for IP transmission.

  • Publication number: 20180220182
Abstract: The present technology relates to a recording apparatus, a recording method, and a program capable of avoiding a buffer overflow at the time of reproduction. Each packet is separated from a packet string, and information indicating an arrival timing of each packet is output. The packet is divided into divided packets having a size which does not cause a buffer overflow, and a packet arrival time of each divided packet is embedded in a header of the divided packet. The present technology is applied to the recording apparatus.

Abstract: A device, method, and program for data stream reproduction are disclosed. In one example, a transmission device includes a multiplexer that generates a data stream by multiplexing a data packet and a control information packet separately from each other, the data packet being a packet including reproduction data as the current data to be reproduced, the control information packet being a packet including control information to be used in reproducing the reproduction data. The multiplexer multiplexes a first packet in a position behind the position located a predetermined first number of packets before a second packet among multiplexing-enabled positions in which the control information packet can be multiplexed in the data stream, the first packet being the control information packet including the control information corresponding to a predetermined processing unit of the reproduction data, the second packet being the data packet including the processing unit.

  • Patent number: 7475418
Abstract: A broadcasting station transmits a program of continuous sequence of events as a transport stream so as to be received by at least a mobile receiver. The broadcasting station provides the transport stream with link information showing the links between the transport stream it transmits in its own service area and the programs being transmitted in adjacent service areas. With this arrangement, the mobile receiver can receive the program it is receiving continuously in an adjacent service area by referring to the link information if it moves from the original service area into the adjacent service area.
