  • Patent number: 11771431
Abstract: An anastomosis assist tool comprises a body unit extending in a predetermined advancing direction, and an insertion unit arranged at the tip of the body unit. The body unit includes an anastomosis assist part having an approximately constant cross-sectional shape in a plane perpendicular to the advancing direction. The anastomosis assist part includes a projection projecting outwardly as viewed in the cross section and extending in the advancing direction. The insertion unit includes a tapered part of a diameter decreasing gradually toward a tip. When the insertion unit and a part of the body unit are inserted into a vessel, the projection of the anastomosis assist part of the body unit abuts on the inner wall of the vessel. This makes it unlikely that the inner wall of the vessel will stick to the body unit at a site other than a point abutting on the projection.

  • Publication number: 20230217918
Abstract: An organ container has a pouch-shaped body having contraction and expansion properties and an opening. In a no-load condition, a maximum width of the opening is less than a maximum width of the body. On the other hand, the opening is expandable to a state in which the maximum width of the opening becomes greater than the maximum width of the body. Thus, the organ container covers the surface of an organ along the surface of the organ. Accordingly, when an organ is placed in the body cavity of a recipient, the organ container does not expand around the organ. For this reason, the organ container is less likely to hinder work during operation. Moreover, the organ container covers most part of the organ and thereby suppresses a temperature rise in the organ.

  • Patent number: 11459534
Abstract: An organ container includes flexible films and a tube holder. The films hold an organ in contact with the surface of the organ. The tube holder holds tubes that extend between the organ in the films and an outside of the films. This makes it possible to hold and preserve the organ while allowing a liquid to be perfused through the organ via the tubes. It is also possible to reduce movements of the organ relative to the organ container and to reduce damage to the organ.

  • Publication number: 20220202007
Abstract: An organ container includes a pouch-shaped body. The body has an opening and is capable of storing an organ that is inserted from the opening into an inner space. The body is formed of a styrene elastomer. The body has inner and outer surfaces each having a uneven shape. This structure suppresses a temperature rise in the organ stored in the body and reduces damage to the organ when some sort of impacts is applied to the organ. Moreover, the uneven shape of the inner surface of the body allows holding of a low-temperature preservation solution and thereby improves insulation effectiveness of the organ. The uneven shape of the outer surface of the body facilitates the surgeon's handling of the organ container and thereby improves workability.

  • Patent number: 11357227
Abstract: A frame includes a ring-shaped body part locatable to surround the periphery of an organ, and at least one tube clamp part mounted on the body part. Each tube clamp part includes a tube holder that holds a tube. The tube clamp part is mounted so as to be movable in the circumferential direction of the body part. Thus, a tube connected to the organ can be fixed at an appropriate position to the tube clamp part. This stabilizes the relative positions of the organ and the tube. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the probability of the organ becoming damaged due to a strain on the organ.

  • Publication number: 20220079142
Abstract: An organ container includes a bag-shaped or tube-shaped insulating sheet. The insulating sheet has an opening and is capable of containing an organ inserted in an inner space through the opening. The insulating sheet is formed of an extra flexible material. The insulating sheet has a hardness less than or equal to F45 according to a durometer hardness test compliant with JIS K 6253-3:2012. Accordingly, in the transplantation of an organ with a variety of sizes and shapes into a recipient, the organ container is capable of covering the surface of the organ along the surface of the organ while holding the organ. The organ container suppresses a further outward spread of the organ, thereby ensuring the field of operation and reducing the possibility of interfering with the work of a surgeon.

  • Publication number: 20210381628
Abstract: A tube is flexible, and includes a tubular outer peripheral surface and a tubular inner peripheral surface. The outer peripheral surface includes corner portions protruding outwardly. The inner peripheral surface includes first arcuate portions positioned inside the corner portions and having a radius of curvature greater than that of the corner portions. In the tube having such a shape, opposed portions of the inner peripheral surface are less prone to be close to each other when an external force is applied to the tube or when the tube is locally bent. This restrains an internal flow passage of the tube from being blocked.

  • Publication number: 20210315202
Abstract: An organ container has a contractible and expandable pouch-shaped body having an opening. Under no-load conditions, the opening has a maximum width smaller than a maximum width of the body. The opening is expandable up to a state in which the maximum width of the opening is greater than the maximum width of the body. The body has an inner surface that includes a first region having a smooth curved surface and a second region having an uneven shape. The uneven shape of the inner surface of the body allows a preservation solution to protrude into interstices between an organ and the inner surface and thereby improves a thermal insulating effect. Moreover, by providing the smooth first region, generation of remaining traces can be suppressed. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively suppress a temperature rise in the organ and to reduce damage to the organ.

  • Publication number: 20210282390
Abstract: A perfusion lumen is connected to at least one perfusion blood vessel among a plurality of blood vessels that extends from a branch of a plurality of blood vessels protruding from a liver, the branch existing on a distal side viewed from the liver, to a further distal side viewed from the liver. The perfusion lumen is supplied with perfusate to perfuse the liver and maintain the condition of the liver. Among blood vessels that are not connected to the perfusion lumen, at least one conserved blood vessel is obstructed and conserved for anastomosis to a blood vessel of the living body. Accordingly, the perfusion state of the liver is maintained even during anastomosis to the blood vessels of the living body. This enables anastomosis to the blood vessels of the living body while maintaining the perfusion state of the liver.

Abstract: An organ container includes an opening that allows passage of an organ and a pouch-shaped insulating sheet that holds an organ inserted through the opening. The insulating sheet has an inner surface of an uneven shape. This uneven shape suppresses slipping or coming off of the organ from the insulating sheet. Accordingly, it is possible to stably hold the organ in the insulating sheet and to suppress a temperature rise in the organ caused by the body temperature of a recipient or the outside air temperature.

  • Publication number: 20190191692
Abstract: For perfusion, blood vessels protruding from a removed organ or tissue and cannulas for circulating perfusate are tightened and bound at positions away from the cut ends of the blood vessels toward a proximal side viewed from the organ. The cut ends of the aforementioned blood vessels that are anastomosed to blood vessels of a living body are spaced from the binding positions at which the cannulas are secured. The direction to the blood vessels of the living body can be conducted while moving the cannulas in various postures relative to the blood vessels protruding from the organ or tissue. This enables performing an anastomosis operation while maintaining the perfusion state. In this way, organs and tissues that include at least one artery route and at least one vein route can be anastomosed to blood vessels of a living body while maintaining the perfusion state.

  • Publication number: 20190141988
Abstract: A perfusion device and a perfusion method can allocate two routes of perfusate inflow pathways and two routes of perfusate outflow pathways for a liver graft. The perfusate inflow pathways have perfusate inflow cannulas connected respectively to the portal vein and the hepatic artery. The perfusate outflow pathways have perfusate outflow cannulas connected respectively to the suprahepatic inferior vena cava and the infrahepatic inferior vena cava. Perfusate is allowed to enter the liver from the perfusate inflow cannulas, and the perfusate in the liver is allowed to drain off from the perfusate outflow cannulas. This significantly shortens the time length of the liver graft being in an ischemic condition when the liver is removed or transplanted. That is, the onset of disorder in the liver graft can be suppressed. This increases the success rate of liver transplantation. Thus, deterioration of organ grafts during surgery is prevented in organ transplantation surgery that requires long hours.
