  • Patent number: 4912640
Abstract: An electronic type memo device that stores hand-written input data in pairs with index data and read the desired hand-written data by retrieving the index data. This device features extremely simplified operational procedures in executing input, registration, and retrieval of these data and can be operated efficiently. The electronic type memo device includes a hand-written data input unit allowing the entry of the hand-written data; a key input unit containing the index data input allowing the entry of the index data including time, dates, and pages; and memory unit that respectively store the hand-written data fed from the key input unit and the index data in pairs.

  • Patent number: 4858125
Abstract: An electronic cane having a grip and a stick contains, inside of the grip, sensors for sensing physical parameters of the surrounding environment and of the user of the cane. Predetermined maximum and minimum values of the parameters are programmed and an alarm is activated if a parameter is outside of the range. The circuitry for performing these functions is in a retractable case. A panic button is also provided for.

  • Patent number: 4715010
Abstract: An easy to use schedule alarm is disclosed which is capable of sounding an alarm and displaying the content of a schedule or memorandum automatically without setting the alarm time or entering a data display instruction. With the scheduled data or memorandum being entered into the device in advance, it can notify the scheduled times by sounding an alarm and by displaying the contents of a schedule and memorandum thus serving to prevent one from leaving out scheduled times and data.

  • Patent number: 4190329
Abstract: A liquid crystal display cell of the reflection type comprises a substrate on which reflection electrodes are formed, a transparent substrate on which transparent electrodes are formed and a liquid crystal composition filled between said two substrates. Activating voltage signals are applied between said two electrodes, thereby to drive the liquid crystal display cell to display desired symbols. A reflection film is formed on at least one of said two substrates in such a manner that the reflection film is electrically isolated from said reflection electrodes and the reflection film covers a position where the symbols are never displayed, or the reflection electrodes are not formed. The visibility of the information displayed on the liquid crystal cell can be enhanced because the reflection electrodes and the reflection film, in combination, cover the display panel uniformly.

  • Patent number: 3986014
Abstract: Electronic calculators generally employ discharge type indication tubes, fluorescence type indication tubes, plasma tubes, light-emitting diodes, liquid-crystal units, etc., as read-out devices therefor. In particular, the liquid crystal indication units are different from the other type units in that they can not emit light themselves and need impingement of light beams thereon. A window or transparent portion is provided at a portion of a hood plate movably affixed on the calculator in order that ambient light beams and more specifically light beams at the rear of the calculator are caused to be incident on the liquid-crystal indication units therethrough. With such arrangement contrast of indication patterns may be emphasized.
