    Abstract: A portable electronic device and a magnetic field antenna circuit are provided for making it possible to keep an antenna resonance frequency in a fixed range even if temperature changes. A mobile telephone device (1) is provided with a second communication unit driven by a chargeable battery (43) to execute a predetermined function and an RFID unit (41) accompanied with magnetic communication. The RFID unit (41) includes a magnetic antenna unit (50), which can transmit or receive a wireless signal by a magnetic field, and a capacitor (52), one terminal of which is connected with the magnetic antenna unit (50) to generate a predetermined resonance frequency. The capacitor (52) is characterized in having a temperature-reactance characteristic reverse to an amount of an inductance value that fluctuates as the magnetic antenna unit (50) changes in accordance with temperatures.

    Abstract: An image reading apparatus capable of continually conveying a plurality of originals in a stable manner while cleaning a contact glass of an image sensor and reducing streaks occurring in read images. An image sensor reads an original image via a contact member which the conveyed original may contact. A cleaning member, being provided on a turning member which is able to rotate or swing and disposed at a position opposing the image sensor, cleans the contact member's surface which the original may contact. The turning member is turned by a driving unit. A controlling unit controls the driving unit to turn the turning member so that cleaning of the contact member is performed by the cleaning member after the original has passed an image reading position of the image sensor and before a subsequent original reaches the image reading position.

The contact glass is held by a glass holding member. A line image sensor reads the image on the original conveyed on the image reading location, through the contact glass.     Abstract: A plated product is provided which comprises a material of which the surface has many recesses, each having an opening of 5˜100 &mgr;m and a depth of 0.2 d˜d (d: the size of the opening of a recess, &mgr;m) and having an anchor portion. Further, a plurality of grooves are provided on the surface of the material. The width of the opening of each groove and the depth of each groove have specified values. The groove can be provided at each of both edges of its opening with a ridge portion. The angle of said groove to the surface of the material is within a range of specified values. A part of the thin film of metal enters the anchor portions of the recesses or grooves, so that the plated metal produced by this invention has a superior technical effect in that the thin film of metal hardly peels off the surface of the material.

    Abstract: A plated product and apparatus for forming recesses or grooves on material to be plated to produce such a product. The product includes material having a surface having many recesses, each having an opening of size d, where d is in the range 5-100 microns, a depth in the range from 0.2 d to d, or many grooves. In preferred embodiments, each groove or recess has an anchor portion. In some embodiments, each groove has a ridge portion at each of both edges of its opening. The angle of each groove to the surface of the material and each groove's depth and opening width are preferably in specified ranges. When the material is plated, part of the thin metal film enters the anchor portions of its grooves or recesses, so that the plated metal has superior capacity to resist peeling off of the plated metal.
