  • Patent number: 4802557
Abstract: A wait time prediction apparatus for an elevator which takes into consideration the difficulty in measuring actual waiting times of individual users for the group supervision of the elevator and provides apparatus to record the registration time of each call and the number of getting-on persons corresponding to the call, to accumulate such records so as to provide a function defining the average number of passengers getting on the elevator corresponding to each call registration time, and to integrate the function with respect to the call registration times for a predetermined period of time and to use the result as a predictive summation of the actual waiting times of the individual passengers getting on an elevator which serves a call after a predetermined time from the registration of the call, which cannot be directly measured.

  • Patent number: 4682673
Abstract: When a plurality of preset buttons among a plurality of buttons provided on a destination call registration panel have been successively depressed in a predetermined sequence and within predetermined time intervals, the presence of a request for a special operation is determined so as to register a call to a specified floor not indicated on the panel. When the request for special operation is not determined, a call to a floor corresponding to a depressed button is registeed as usual. In this manner, the destination floor call registration panel can be used for registering cage calls under normal operation and for instructing special operation without any change.

  • Patent number: 4600087
Abstract: A group-controlled elevator in which each hall is provided with destination buttons that will be manipulated by passengers and that produce signals corresponding to destination floors desired by the passengers, and in which destination calls produced by the manipulated destination buttons are automatically registered for predetermined cages. When a cage other than the cage for which the destination call is automatically registered, has arrived at the floor where said destination buttons are manipulated, the destination call is also registered even for this non-allotted cage. Therefore, whichever cage the passengers are on board, they are brought to their desired floors without the need of registering again the calls in the cage.

  • Patent number: 4570869
Abstract: This spool for ribbons, tapes, string, and the like comprises a plastic first cylinder, which ribbons or tapes are coiled around. A projecting flange along one edge of the cylinder helps to hold the ribbons or tapes coiled around it. Fitted inside the first cylinder is an adjustable second cylinder made of the same material. This adjustable second cylinder provides a second flange and includes a series of openings, each having a series of steps, any one of which can engage a projection rib on the inner surface of the first cylinder. The width between the two flanges is thereby determined, and the two cylinders may then be secured in the selected position.

  • Patent number: 4567566
Abstract: An apparatus wherein a demand fluctuating substantially cyclically is divided into a plurality of sections having predetermined time intervals and wherein the demand is estimated for each section on the basis of the measured result of the demand in the section, characterized in that an adjusting section is set in the vicinity of the boundary between two sections adjoining each other, and that the estimation value of the demand in the adjusting section is compared with the respective estimation values of the two sections, so as to shift the boundary in the direction of widening the section which has the estimation value closer to the estimation value of the adjusting section. Thus, the demand in the vicinity of the boundary is estimated with the estimation value of the widened section, and it can be estimated at high precision.

  • Patent number: 4523665
Abstract: A control apparatus for elevators in which one cycle of a fluctuating demand is divided into a plurality of sections, the demand in each section or a service condition value of the elevators for the demand is measured, the demand or the service condition value of the corresponding section is estimated from the measured value, and decision means is comprised to compare the estimated value and the measured value obtained anew and to decide the compared result, so that when the compared result has been decided to fail in satisfying a reference condition, cages are controlled with a value set separately from the estimated value or a value separately calculated for estimation. This brings forth the effect that, even when the measured value has become different from an ordinary value due to the occurrence of a special traffic condition, it is not used for the calculation of the estimative value, so as to permit an accurate estimation when an ordinary traffic condition has been thereafter restored.

  • Patent number: 4524418
Abstract: A demand estimation apparatus for controlling machines according to revised estimated demand values wherein estimated demand values are calculated by dividing demand cycles which are fluctuating similarly cyclically into a plurality of sections (time zones), an adjusting section is interposed between each two sections adjoining each other, and an estimate of the fluctuation of the demand is determined based on measurements of both the demand value of the adjusting section and the demand values of the two adjoining sections, and wherein the estimated demand value of each adjusting section is compared with the estimated demand values of the respective two adjoining sections and, based on the comparison, each adjusting section is moved as a whole toward one of the adjoining sections by a predetermined time width when the estimated demand value of the adjusting section more closely approximates the estimated demand value of that one of the adjoining section than the other adjoining section, thus modifying the tim

  • Patent number: 4402387
Abstract: An elevator control system for operating the cage of an elevator wherein the cage is run from one floor to the next floor at which it is to be stopped with a minimum amount of energy consumption. Energy consumption estimating circuits produce estimates of the amount of energy required for the cage to run to the next floor at which it is to be stopped for a plurality of different maximum cage speeds. The outputs of the energy consumption estimating circuits are coupled to a minimum value selecting circuit which determines which of the energy consumption estimating circuits has produced the lowest estimate. The elevator cage is then run at a speed profile and at a maximum speed chosen in correspondence with the minimum energy consumption.
