  • Patent number: 8062785
Abstract: In a battery module including a plurality of batteries 40 stored in a housing, each of the batteries 40 includes an electrode portion 16 protruding from a battery case 5, a base 30A is arranged on a side of the electrode portions 16 so that the base 30A is in contact with the battery cases 5, and the electrode portions 16 are inserted in through holes 36 provided in the base 30A. Connection portions 320 connected to the electrode portions 16 are formed on upper surfaces of the electrode portions 16. A connection terminal 32 for connecting the batteries 40 in parallel is formed in a region on the base 30A in which the connection terminal 32 does not cover the through holes 36. The connection terminal 32 is connected to the connection portions 320 by fusible links 320A straddling the through holes 36.

  • Publication number: 20110171504
Abstract: A battery (3) includes a battery case (10) having an opening sealed with a sealing plate (13). The sealing plate (13) has a protrusion (13a) extending in a direction toward the outside of the battery case (10), and a ring-shaped insulator (32) is provided on an outer circumferential surface of the protrusion (13a). An inner circumferential portion (32e) of the insulator (32) is in contact with the outer circumferential surface (13b) of the protrusion (13a), and an outer circumferential portion (32d) of the insulator (32) is extended to be positioned on an opening end (10a) of the battery case (10).

  • Publication number: 20100167094
Abstract: This invention relates to a battery structure with improved safety. The battery structure includes: at least two batteries disposed axially parallel to each other, positive terminals thereof facing opposite directions, negative terminals thereof facing opposite directions; an insulating material covering each of the batteries; and a connecting member provided at an end of the at least two batteries for connecting the positive terminal of one of the batteries with the negative terminal of the other battery. The connecting member includes: a negative terminal connector attached to the other battery so as to come into contact with the negative terminal of the other battery; and a bus bar connected at one end portion thereof to the positive terminal of the one battery. The negative terminal connector has a socket into which the other end portion of the bus bar is to be inserted.
