  • Patent number: 6623593
Abstract: A funnel-shaped chip tube and a tubular-shaped press frit are prepared. After the chip tube is disposed on a major surface of a substrate so that the center axis of an exhaust hole provided in the substrate of a sealed container body and the center axis of the chip tube may substantially coincide with each other, the press frit is so disposed as to be located on a surface of an opening portion. After that, by heating the whole device, the press frit is heated and melted, to provide a sealing member contiguously from an outer-rim outside portion of the flare-shaped opening portion of the chip tube to a portion of a tubular portion beyond a boundary.

  • Patent number: 6495262
Abstract: A flat display panel and a flat display device are realized in which sealing layers can sufficiently alleviate and absorb strain stress between two substrates which is caused by internal stress of the substrates during sealing process and after cooling process, and which can cancel out disadvantages of an amorphous glass paste and a crystallized glass paste, and a flat display panel manufacturing method is realized which can prevent application of excessive or insufficient pressure to the sealing layers. In a flat display panel formed with at least two substrates (1A) and (1B) sealed together, sealing layers (21a) are formed as a stacked structure containing a plurality of layers or formed in a region containing a plurality of stripes, so as to obtain a stable seal. The sealing layers (21a) are formed of a crystallized glass paste (2A) and an amorphous glass paste (2B). A pressing force applied in the sealing process is positioned near the sealing layers and inside the position of the sealing layers.

  • Patent number: 5602443
Abstract: A thin flat cathode-ray tube can optimize stress which is generated in each part also when its screen size is increased and maintains high reliability particularly in connection strength in a joint portion between a front glass vessel and a back metal vessel, without deteriorating the joint portion in reliability also in working for mounting electric signal input terminals and an exhaust pipe on the back metal vessel. In the flat cathode-ray tube which is formed by joining side surface portions of the front glass vessel and the back metal vessel with each other, the back metal vessel has the side surface portion of a prescribed width extending along that of the front glass vessel and a bottom surface portion opposed to a fluorescent screen of the front glass vessel, while the bottom surface portion is depressed by a prescribed amount toward the fluorescent portion and a corner portion connecting the side surface portion with the bottom surface portion is at a prescribed radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 5528100
Abstract: A flat cathode-ray tube in which a ceramics film or a glass film is formed by thermal spray on the coupled surface of a metal case. This assembly and a glass screen are coupled through crystallized frit glass or by glass fusion. The coupling between the metal case and the glass screen has a coupling strength sufficient to resist the vacuum stress. The metal case, which is not exposed for a long time to high temperatures during thermal spraying, can be made of a metal for realizing a lightweight without any thermal deformation or dimensional variations, thereby attaining satisfactory mechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 5357176
Abstract: A thin cathode ray tube. A low voltage is applied to a beam of electrons produced by an electron gun. The electron beam is electromagnetically deflected through a large angle. Four static deflectors are used to deflect and accelerate the beam of electrons, and to let the beam of electrons have a sufficient energy level when it reaches a fluorescent screen. The cathode ray tube can effectively increase the deflection angle of the beam of electrons and reduce an incident angle of the beam of electrons so as to reproduce an image with less distortion.
