  • Publication number: 20050191559
Abstract: Radiofrequency attenuator and method. The attenuator includes a pair of transparent windows. A chamber between the windows is filled with molten salt. Preferred molten salts include quarternary ammonium cations and fluorine-containing anions such as tetrafluoroborate (BF4?), hexafluorophosphate (PF6?), hexafluoroarsenate (AsF6?), trifluoromethylsulfonate (CF3 SO3?), bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ((CF3 SO2)2 N?), bis(perfluoroethylsulfonyl)imide ((CF3CF2SO2)2 N?) and tris(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)methide ((CF3SO2)3 C?). Radicals or radical cations may be added to or electrochemically generated in the molten salt to enhance the RF attenuation.

  • Publication number: 20050172133
Abstract: A host intercepts calls between two executables and determines whether the calls are permissible according to the host's security model which can be identify based, such as user identity based—for instance, mapping access rights within a specific data base user context to database object access. Such an identity security model differs from a common language runtime security model where managed code uses Code Access Security to prevent managed assemblies from performing certain operations. Managed assemblies registered with the host are host objects from the host's perspective for which access rights can be defined via security rules, such as are defined for individual user identities. A host can decide access between managed executables based on the host's identity based access rules by trapping any cross assembly calls and deciding whether such calls should proceed or be blocked from taking place based on the corresponding identity security settings.

  • Publication number: 20050026038
Abstract: A composition, method of its preparation, and zinc electrodes comprising the composition as the active mass, for use in rechargeable electrochemical cells with enhanced cycle life is described. The electrode active mass comprises a source of electrochemically active zinc and at least one fatty acid or a salt, ester or derivative thereof, or an alkyl sulfonic acid or a salt ester or derivative thereof. The zinc electrode is assumed to exhibit low shape change and decreased dendrite formation compared to known zinc electrodes, resulting in electrochemical cells which have improved capacity retention over a number of charge/discharge cycles.

  • Patent number: 5743022
Abstract: A dryer arrangement for use in the production of a dried cast sheet, in particular reconstituted tobacco sheet, is formed of a plurality of steam plates in side-by-side arrangement providing a substantially flat surface. The plates are hollow and a heated fluid is fed to the interior thereof. A slurry of sheet forming material is cast at one end of the flat surface. The cast sheet material travels over the steam plates under momentum imparted thereto by the belt dryer, if used, and/or is transported for example by a heat conductive plastic belt driven over the upper surface of the steam plates to provide good heat transfer between the sheet material being dried and the flat surface of the steam plates.
