  • Publication number: 20220388674
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing alerts in an aircraft. The methods and systems receive a flight plan and conditions data providing information on flight conditions along the flight plan including meteorological data. The conditions data is analyzed in flying regions along the flight plan to determine flight rules information. An alert is output to flight crew of the aircraft. The alert predicts when and where a change between type of flight rules will occur based on the flight rules information.

  • Publication number: 20220358847
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for runway overrun alerts for an aircraft using manually entered parameters for a non-standard runway. The method includes accessing an interface for an enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS). The following parameters are then manually entered: identification of the non-standard runway; a displaced threshold of the non-standard runway; surface conditions of the non-standard runway; a declared length of the non-standard runway; and availability of thrust reversers on the aircraft. The parameters for the aircraft to safely land and stop on the non-standard runway are calculated with the EGPWS. An alert with the EGPWS is generated if the stopping point of the aircraft is near or beyond the end of the non-standard runway.

  • Publication number: 20220335926
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of a vehicle using speech recognition. One method involves automatically identifying an input element based at least in part on an audio communication with respect to the vehicle, identifying one or more constraints associated with the input element, obtaining a limited command vocabulary for the input element using the one or more constraints, and automatically constructing a contextual speech recognition graph for the input element prior to user selection of the input element using the limited command vocabulary. Thereafter, subsequently received audio input is recognized using the contextual speech recognition graph that was automatically and prospectively generated.

  • Patent number: 11260838
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for predicting a hot spot. One method comprises receiving, by a hot spot prediction system, vehicle characteristics associated with a vehicle and traffic data. Then the hot spot prediction system determines a hot spot and an estimated arrival time at the hot spot based on the vehicle characteristics and the traffic data. Following the determination, an auto brake application system receives the hot spot and the estimated arrival time and determines a safe stop time based on the vehicle characteristics, the hot spot and the estimated arrival time. The auto brake application system then sends a notification to the vehicle based on determining that the vehicle can stop within the safe stop time, and performs an action in response to receiving a confirmation from the vehicle.
