The second plurality of training data units includes an information element that specifies a feedback from a second station, the feedback including an identifier corresponding to one of the training data units in the first plurality of data units.     Abstract: A receiver device detects a plurality of symbols in a signal and determines, based on the one of the plurality of detected symbols, an estimated beginning of a subsequent frame. The receiver device determines whether the estimated start of the subsequent frame corresponds to an actual start of the subsequent frame. When the estimated start of the subsequent frame corresponds to the actual start of the subsequent frame, the receiver is synchronized to the actual start of the frame. When the estimated start of the subsequent frame does not corresponds to the actual start of the subsequent frame, the receiver device determines, based on a further one of the plurality of detected symbols, an estimated beginning of another subsequent frame. The receiver device determines whether the estimated start of the other subsequent frame corresponds to an actual start of the other subsequent frame.

The radar module determines variation in frequency of the signal based on the first count and the second count, and determines a type of radar present in the signal based on one or more of the third difference and the variation in the frequency of the signal.

The described differential receiver assures that preamble detections are not falsely triggered, and that CFO estimates are based on accurately modeled preamble waveforms that have not been distorted by phase ambiguities or in-band distortion.

To protect against intrusion on neighboring designated frequency bands, guard bands, having a collective width greater than the total expected error based on the contribution of the frequency error from the non-crystal-based oscillators in the transmitter and/or receiver, can be designated. To protect against inter-channel interference within a designated frequency band, transmitters and receivers can include static sub-bandwidths wider than any possible total frequency error, such that it would be impossible for a transmitter or receiver to attempt to communicate on an unintended sub-band.
