  • Patent number: 10915315
Abstract: A medical device including a non-transitory storage device storing a plurality of modular software components programmed to provide medical device functionality is disclosed. The software components can be configured to run independently as a daemon, to be modified without recompiling unchanged software components and to communicate to each other through a software component. A system including a central unit configured to communicate with a medical device is also disclosed. A medical device software architecture stored on a non-transitory, computer readable storage medium including a plurality of modular software components programmed to provide medical device functionality is also disclosed.

Inventors: Cory R. Gondek, Soundharya Nagasubramanian, Paul S. Kovitz, Charles Alfred, Dan E. Goldman
  • Patent number: 10395008
Abstract: An example medical device includes a physiological measurement device and a computing device. The computing device includes a device management engine and a data connectivity engine. The device management engine is configured to receive data captured by the physiological measurement device. The data captured by the physiological measurement device is formatted in a first data format. The device connectivity engine is further configured to transform the data captured by the physiological measurement device into an array of key-value pairs. The device connectivity engine is further configured to populate a template with at least some of the values from the key-value pairs to generate a populated template. The populated template includes at least a portion of the data captured by the physiological measurement device in a second data format. The device connectivity engine is further configured to transmit the populated template.

  • Patent number: 9804836
Abstract: A medical software package stored on a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium is disclosed. The medical software package can include a plurality of software components programmed to provide one or more functionalities to one or more medical monitoring devices, where each software component is programmed to run independently as a daemon, where each software component is programmed to be modified without recompiling unchanged software components, where the software components are programmed to communicate to each other through at least one of the software components, and where the software package is hardware agnostic and operating system agnostic. A medical device including a tangible, non-transitory storage device storing a medical software package comprising a plurality of modular software components programmed to provide medical device functionality is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9402545
Abstract: A wireless medical device is disclosed. The wireless medical device comprises a processor, a memory, a sensor for detecting a physiological signal, a radio and a proximity detector to measure a distance of the wireless medical device relative to a second wireless medical device. The proximity detector includes a ranging functionality. A wireless communication channel is created when a distance between the wireless medical device and the second wireless medical device is within a first predetermined threshold. The distance is greater than zero.
