  • Publication number: 20030162882
Abstract: The invention relates to a reactive batch of thermoplastic polymer particles on the basis of poly-&agr;-olefins, elastomeric block copolymers and/or polyisobutylenes. Said batch is useful for producing insulating glass units consisting of two or several glass panes, casting resin panes, solar collectors or facade elements for edifices. The reactive batch contains a portion of batch particles which contain polymers with reactive groups selected from hydroxyl groups, amino groups, carboxyl groups, carboxylic acid anhydride groups. mercapto groups, hydrosilicon groups and/or hydrosilyl groups. Another portion of the batch particles contains polymers with reactive groups that are complementary thereto and are selected from isocyanate groups, epoxide groups, active olefinically unsaturated double bonds and/or water-producing substances. Said batch of reactive particles is homogenised only directly before the last use and, immediately afterwards, is applied to the substrate surfaces to be connected.

  • Patent number: 6117971
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for recycling cured or partly cured polysulfide and/or polymercaptan compositions. Recycling is carried out in a non-volatile liquid with addition of a depolymerizing agent, preferably a sulfur-containing vulcanization accelerator known from rubber technology. The depolymerisate may be added to the curing component of two-component polysulfide and/or polymercaptan adhesives/sealants or coating materials in large quantities without any significant effect on its stability in storage or curing characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4797463
Abstract: A two-component material based on curable prepolymers and conventional additives is described which, unlike conventional two-component materials, contains hardenable prepolymer in both individual components, the prepolymer in the first component being a polyurethane prepolymer with free NCO-groups and the prepolymer in the second component is a polymer with free SH-groups. The first component contains curing agent and optionally accelerator for the polymer with free SH-groups and the second component contains curing agent and optionally accelerator for the polyurethane prepolymer with free NCO-groups. Through the use of two prepolymers, the two components of the two-component material can be used in a volume ratio favorable for practical purposes. It is also possible to set the viscosity and density of the two individual components to roughly the same values, so that no problems are caused when mixing the two components.
