Patent number: 11965807Abstract: A duct probe (20) for sampling a fluid from a main fluid flow (Fm) in a duct (10) defines an elongated supply channel (21) n elongated discharge channel (22). The supply channel has at least one inflow opening (23) for diverting a partial flow (Fp) from the main fluid flow into the supply channel, and the discharge channel has at least one outflow opening for returning the partial flow from the discharge channel into the main fluid flow after it has passed an environmental sensor (30). The duct probe further comprises at least one compensation opening (26) that connects the supply channel and the discharge channel in a region that is located between their closed and open ends. By the presence of the compensation opening (26), a jet flow (Fj) is created, which acts to reduce a pressure difference between the supply channel and the discharge channel when the duct probe is exposed to the main fluid flow (Fm).Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2020Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Sensirion AGInventors: Nicolas Moeller, Mark Hornung, Stefan Thiele, Patrick Leidenberger, Stefan Kostner

Patent number: 6889490Abstract: A hood and a blower housing form an air induction cavity in the side of the mower hood, which draws the ambient air into the air intake aperture and from there into the engine. Two shield members on the blower housing prevent the ambient air from mixing with the hot air of the engine. A method of air induction including the steps of forming an air induction cavity by connecting the upper hood to the housing, having the lower lip of the air induction cavity lower than the air intake of the blower housing, channeling the air into the air intake, and preventing the hot air of the engine from mixing with the ambient air drawn through the air induction cavity.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2002Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: MTD Products IncInventor: Stefan Hornung

Patent number: 5411349Abstract: Cylindrical bodies of structural components, such as a spacecraft and a rocket section or two rocket sections, are coupled to each other by a releasable coupling device. The structural components have radially protruding flanges that face each other and are encircled by the coupling device. The coupling device includes a flexible tensioning element, such as a steel belt or link chain, the ends of which are interconnected by a clamping or locking device. The clamping or locking device is constructed as a two-armed lever, one end of which is connected to each of the ends of the tensioning element. The two-armed lever is rotatably supported and driven by an operating member such as a pipe section or rod. The two-armed lever is thus rotatable through an angle of about 180.degree. so that the ends of the tensioning element are brought into overlapping positions. When the ends are in such overlapping positions the device is locked. Rotation of the two-armed lever into the opposite direction unlocks the device.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1993Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: ERNO Raumfahrttechnik GmbHInventors: Ernst Hornung, Huba Oery, Stefan Hornung, Andreas Rittweger
