  • Publication number: 20210250229
Abstract: A user equipment starts a first timer and a second timer in response to different respective network events. The starting of the first and second timers causes the first and second timers to simultaneously elapse. In response to one of the simultaneously elapsing timers expiring, the user equipment sends a radio link failure report to a node of a wireless communication network indicating which of the simultaneously elapsing timers expired.

  • Publication number: 20210212109
Abstract: A communication device receives an uplink grant from a node of a cellular network. The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device in reoccurring time intervals. For each of these time intervals, the communication device selects between an active mode and an inactive mode. In the active mode the communication device performs an uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources. In the inactive mode the communication device performs no uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources.

  • Patent number: 11057763
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to advertise capabilities to a network node in a radio access network. Embodiments include transmitting, to the network node, information describing a plurality of feature sets supported by the UE. The information can include one or more InitialFeatureLists and one or more ExtensionFeatureLists, with each each ExtensionFeatureList being associated with a particular InitialFeatureList. Embodiments also include transmitting, to the network node, one or more BandCombination elements, each of which includes: a list of frequency bands in which the UE is concurrently operable; a FeatureSetCombination element identifying features supported by the UE within each frequency band included in the list. Some embodiments can also include receiving, from the network node, a configuration (e.g., for dual connectivity and/or carrier aggregation) based on the information describing a plurality of feature sets and the BandCombination elements.

  • Patent number: 10966263
Abstract: A UE operating in a RAN may be configured to receive new radio, NR, radio resource control, RRC, messages from a secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain a number that the secondary network node added to the NR RRC messages to indicate their respective order in a sequence which the NR RRC messages were sent by the secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain parameters that the UE uses to configure its communications through a NR interface with the secondary network node. The UE may send NR RRC complete messages toward the secondary network node responsive to receipt of the NR RRC messages, wherein the NR RRC complete messages each contain an indication of the NR RRC message that was received. The UE may control the sending of the NR RRC complete messages to indicate to the secondary network node whether the NR RRC messages are received in an order that is the same as the sequence.

  • Patent number: 10959272
Abstract: Methods may be provided to operate a wireless terminal UE in a wireless communication network. Responsive to receiving a request for a primary identification of a non-serving base station for the wireless terminal, transmission to the non-serving base station for the wireless terminal may be initiated using a random access channel RACH configuration. A random access response RAR may be received from the non-serving base station. Moreover, the random access response may be received with the primary identification of the non-serving base station, and the random access response may be responsive to the transmission using the RACH configuration. The primary identification of the non-serving base station may be transmitted to a node of the wireless communication network other than the non-serving base station.
