Abstract: A computer-implemented method for use in an electronic device includes obtaining a set of candidate words without character-based input. A display of the electronic device displays a first virtual keyboard that presents a first subset of the candidate words and information identifying a plurality of categories associated with the candidate words. The first subset of the candidate words is associated with a first one of the categories. A first input indicative of at least one of a selection of a second one of the categories is received, and a second subset of candidate words is identified based on the received input. The display of the electronic device displays a second virtual keyboard presenting the second subset of the candidate words.

Abstract: A method of controlling access to an electronic device is disclosed. The method comprises: generating a modified first image from a first image, wherein the first image and the modified first image include a first image reference point; generating a modified second image from a second image, wherein the second image and the modified second image include a second image reference point; displaying a three dimensional representation of the modified first image overlaid by the modified second image; authenticating access to the electronic device in response to substantial alignment of the first image reference point in the modified first image with the second image reference point in the modified second image.

Abstract: A docking station apparatus and method provides wireless power and wireless communications to a mobile device, and provides or establishes connections to one or more external devices such as monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and networks. In response to detection of the presence of the mobile device, the docking station is enabled to transfer wireless power to the mobile device and communicate wirelessly with the mobile device. The docking station also provides or establishes connections to external devices in response to one or more connectivity assignments.

Abstract: A method of authenticating a user of a computing device is proposed, together with computing device on which the method is implemented. In the method a modified base image is overlaid with a modified overlay image on a display. At least one of the modified base image and modified overlay image is moved by the user. Positive authentication is indicated in response a first point relative to the base image reference point being aligned with a second point relative to the overlay image reference point.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining priority of data in a database managed by a computing device are provided. The data comprises a list of events, the computing device comprising a processing unit interconnected with a memory device and a display device. Context data is processing at the processing unit to determine a priority ranking for each of the items, wherein processing the context data to determine a priority ranking comprises at least one of processing attendance data, location, event data, and telephone record data. Respective areas of the display device are controlled to provide visual representations of each of the events, each respective area controlled according to the priority ranking.

Abstract: A security system may include a plurality of electronic devices, each having a unique identification (ID) associated therewith and configured to generate a temporary security code based upon the unique ID. The system may further include at least one mobile wireless communications device including a first Near-Field Communication (NFC) circuit, and a mobile controller configured to receive the temporary security code from a given electronic device from among the plurality of electronic devices. The system may also include an access control device associated with a personnel access position and including a second NFC sensor and a security controller. The security controller may be configured to receive the temporary security code from the first NFC sensor via NFC communications, selectively grant personnel access based upon the received temporary security code, and determine the unique ID associated with the given electronic device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for obfuscating user data in a remote web-based application are disclosed. According to one method, user inputs to a displayed web page of the remote web-based application are received at a first web browser that is used by the user, wherein at least a portion of the user inputs comprise user-inputted data intended to be stored at the web-based application. The user inputs are transmitted to a management component that is configured to interact with a second web browser that communicates with the web-based application. The management component obfuscates at least a portion of the user-inputted data and forwards the obfuscated and un-obfuscated portions of the user inputs to the second web browser, which correspondingly transmits the obfuscated and un-obfuscated portions of the user inputs to the remote web-based application.

A case body has an outer and an inner surface, the inner surface defines at least part of a case compartment that receives an electronic device. A drawing pad is attached to the case body and has a touch sensitive input region, which senses drawing gestures thereon, and a detachable data communications interface that detachably connects a communications link to the electronic device. The communications link conveys indication data corresponding to sensed drawing gestures to the electronic device.

One or more processors are associated with instructions that cause a fingerprint sample to be obtained and that cause a gesture to be detected. The gesture is characterized by input representing movement that is directed at or from the fingerprint sensor. The input is received, at least in part, at an end of the touchscreen display that is nearest the fingerprint sensor.

An identifier of an object is rendered, at a display of a device, at a first position associated with the object. An object tracked device is used to track the object. When the object moves, a processor of the device smoothly transitions the identifier from the first position to a second position at the display using animation, the second position associated with a new position of the object.
